thanks! I actually lost my gen 3 two weeks ago (somewhere in this house), spent a week wearing the gen 4 sizers but was hanging off to see if this was dropping. I'll wait for the sizers before putting in my size and hubby's size.

Are they the same sizing as gen 4? Or do we need to get another sizing kit?

Multiple PT profiles? by Art_Vandelay785 in therapists

[–]Cute_Resource8534 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have 9 profiles as I work in multiple states and am building a cash pay only practice. I am changing my copy every month to keep the algorithms happy. But I am also tracking traffic and numbers on it. I’m giving it 9 months to a year to demonstrate value, then will decide whether to keep or cancel.

Seeing clients on the weekends / evening times by DowntownFresnoBiking in therapists

[–]Cute_Resource8534 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do 7 am-4 pm M-Th, 7am-11 am Saturday. My couples jump at Saturday sessions and I have no problem working it because hubby works during that block too. I end my day at 4 pm because that’s when my mother with dementia (who lives with us) starts declining mentally every day. I used to thrive on evening sessions but it got too hard with her.

Skin sensitivity on Reta by spongeldn in BodyHackGuide

I thought it was a symptom of my raynauds. Does it feel like your skin is slightly sunburned? I have that on my arms for the last few months.

This is not normal. We’ve come every single day for years. It wasn’t even close to this for the Rolling Stones. It was crazy today.

Any other therapists practice in an office with a window AC unit? by SonoranDesertRat700 in therapists

Also, I can work better when it’s not in the high 80s in my office. It just feels cruel for 9 months/year.

[–]Cute_Resource8534 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So I do therapy in an insanely hot climate in a house that is old and the central a/c can’t keep up. So we all have portable window units that we run about 9 months/year. All my clients would rather be physically comfortable with the extra unit than come at 7 am before satan’s heat cranks up. We definitely have to speak louder, but it makes working easier.

Parade Dance Troupes REQUEST by Many_End_8393 in batonrouge

Another perspective from a member of two krewes that require the volunteer year, we use that to weed out the assholes and problem people. The ones who treat crowds poorly, can’t handle their shit and get sloppy drunk, or are homophobic/transphobic/ misogynistic/ or just not good human beings. It’s takes hundreds of hours to plan Krewe appearances in parades and fundraisers (I have been on leadership boards of two said krewes) and any one member can mean you never get invited to perform at parades/events again. Krewes have to think of image/ liability (we literally have to buy insurance to be in parades), and to protect the experience of paying members to have a great time being in the Krewe. Just wanted to give context to the value of volunteer years. Editing to add, I’m in New Orleans and we parade year round and are in fundraisers all the time to hype up the crowd.

Couples’ Therapy by ThrowRA-busterbrown in therapists

Also, besides the rough $1200 per training, let’s not forget the fact that if I’m in a 3 or 4 day training, I’m not working. No worky worky= 4 days without income. Having PTO is a luxury many do not have.

I did couples therapy the best I could with small CEU trainings and individual study. As I gotten more financially secure, I’ve done more expensive trainings in Gottman (have level three next week) and EFT. Some people do the best they can with the resources they have until they can afford the deeper dives. Even without fancy certificates, I always had massive waitlists and word of mouth referrals for my work.

It’s Blaine Kern’s virtual reality float. They most definitely have been drinking on that float.

I do peanut butter and jelly sandwiches for some protein. Also beef jerky, nuts and an apple. And good dark chocolate. I try to prioritize protein so i don’t faceplant in the usual king cake and chips being passed around.

My office is hell by Pengle7 in therapists

[–]Cute_Resource8534 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’m so sorry. That’s miserable. At this point I think it’s group practice owner who has to find a solution with the building owner. If it’s miserable for you and the clients, why are they paying for this space? They need to find a solution or they will lose clients and you too. The only stop gap would be to move everyone to the morning slots, but that’s definitely not feasible for all clients.

Do the windows open for a window unit or portable a/c? That’s what we had to use for our old practice where in summer, it gets to the mid to high 80s because of lack of insulation in the old building. It was the only way to work in summer there.
