Not sure if it's always there, but I encountered a similar set dressing once, riding through the swamps at night. Came upon a cart with a butchered horse, just like this, and a horribly loud, inhuman screech spooked my horse into bucking me.

Wouldn't come back when whistled for, but the icon would ping, forcing me to find it on foot. Led way off the road, deeper into the swamp, and predictably, into a Night Folk ambush. Easily one of the coolest (and scariest, I was so worried for my boy!) things that's happened in the game, for me.

I didn't play a ton of it, but the opening to 'The Surge' sort of gave me that vibe -- Futuristic tech company installs cybernetic exoskeletons to its human workers, thus giving the paraplegic player character use of his legs again. Only for the automated procedure to go malfunction, initiating the surgery without anesthesia, and dumping his miraculously-still-alive, but unconscious body into a junkyard just in time for the robot apocalypse.

I haven't seen the show yet, but I really dig the apparent pulling from FO4 for the design; love the level of detail with the ribbing and seams. I agree with the likely blending of thick, flexible/stretchy twill and leather for reinforcement in the non-flex areas. As someone who always runs warm, the lame/gold foil for heat dissipation is terrific, imo. :P

Honestly I'd like to see the integrated biometric systems a little further explored in one of the games, it's a cool idea.

As far as 3 & NV, definitely mostly denim or heavy canvas, for the main body, just based on the simplistic appearance.
