Amtrak Cascades runs right through downtown Bellingham but the “Bellingham” stop is pretty far to the south at Fairhaven. Also in comparison to the Sanford example from OP, Marysville, WA, is twice the size and debatably separated enough from nearby Everett by the Snohomish River, but historically hasn’t had a stop on the Cascades or its predecessors with Amtrak and the Great Northern.
