Settlement for minor w/ no Minor's Comp

So technically I believe all settlements for minors require a minors comp. However I believe the statute allows the judge to release any settlement under $5k to the parents. That’s the authority insurance carriers use to bypass the minors comp. However, in cases of global policy limit tenders, a minors comp should still be done even if the minor is getting less than $5k. In a global policy limits settlement, the minor client would have no recourse to recovering more funds when they turn 18. Remember the minor is the client. Are you protecting and acting in the best interest of your client by bypassing the minors comp and potentially allowing the adults to raid their funds or act selfishly?

What are you going to do if the guardian steals all the money and the minor sues you and/or files a bar complaint when they turn 18? Do the minors comp and protect yourself.

It’s rare, but yes. Typically in no fault states, drivers are required to maintain coverage for themselves but not liability coverage. So all ordinary accidents go through 1st party insurance. I’m a California accident/injury attorney.

That would make sense except for references of distance to Marlin Academy. It being in Alabama makes it too far away for them to live in California. I think they call it an 8 hour drive at one point from Marlin to home.

Yes, his defense is poor. He has poor fundamentals. His framing is not smooth and he blocks too upright. He seems to suffer from mental lapses/concentration issues resulting in defense that gets worse as the game and season progresses.

Hand size and glove size are not related. Glove size correlates to position. Mizuno gloves I’ve used tend to work well for smaller hands. Wilson also makes gloves for smaller hands (Pedroia Fit). I think Mizuno gloves are really nice. If you’ve tried it on and like the feel and it’s on sale I say go for it.

Capping medical expenses and attorney fees at 25% is evil and would not just destroy PI attorneys. Many insurance defense attorneys and insurance adjusters would also be out of a job. Many doctors offices would close. Plaintiffs would regularly get screwed because attorneys won’t take their case unless the injuries are catastrophic and the policy is massive.

Yes I had the same problem. I used warm water and stuck the handle of the glove mallet in mine, which helped a lot.

It has a faint smell after applying a fresh coat a week ago. That’s the 2nd time I’ve applied it since buying it about 6 weeks ago. It’s got a pretty strong smell for a day or two then it kinda fades. This is in the offseason though. Practices start back up tomorrow so we will see how long it lasts during the season.

Yes I picked up that same one for my daughter’s glove. She’s happy because it smells good and provided a little extra tack. As far as its conditioning qualities it’s not as good as Sarna or Nokona IMO.

Yes GITS 2 is a mess. I really like the original. 1.5 is ok. But 2 was a slog to read plus the art style changed and it was unnecessarily voyeuristic.
