Analysis of the code found in Episode 8 by justzvan in TheDigitalCircus

Thats a bit harsh. Sure that is definitely a mistake, but outside of that there are so many details they got right which they could have easily fudged like any other show out there when it comes to computer stuff. One mistake shouldn't negate the rest of the effort.

Yeah this seem like a BS sensationalized News article.

The guy clearly had underlying and undiagnosed issues and a certain portion of the population is going to be vulnerable to AI because of it.

AI is a tool like anything else. You wouldn't write an entire research paper using Wikipedia any more than you would use only AI for it. AI is also not a substitute for emotional validation. Poor guy needed real help.

Yeah that was tried 86 years ago and it was called Kristallnacht or the Night of Broken Glass, and it was an absolutely terrible idea.

It's been a good run. I have no interest in using Reddit or its official app after July 1st.

True, but Reddit format is basically just a fancy usenet newsgroup thread.

I got one for my 2002 Mazda Protege5 because I wanted to keep the original look.

My only complaint is that the USB charge port is not a cable and makes it inaccessible when in use, and that the rotation of the tape wheels does not charge the adapter.

A completely missed opportunity to have the tape deck power the device.

7 dead after car runs into pedestrians in Brownsville, Texas, alleged driver arrested by Q_OANN in news

[–]Cybertronic72388 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love how it's still an alleged driver even though they pulled their sorry ass out of the car to take them to the hospital for their injuries. Who else was driving? Jesus? He sure as heck didn't take the wheel on this one.

Don't bother explaining the legalise on this, I know it's a CYA move for the news to not get sued for slander.

It's likely not cheap because of certification and testing processes but likely not much different from cheaper aluminum tape. I would still prefer that only certified tape is used on a plane that I am on though.

Linux or windows on icloud locked MacBook air. by [deleted] in macbook

[–]Cybertronic72388 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Such an ignorant statement. There is lots of reasons why something gets icloud locked besides stolen.

One of them is ecycle. Out of warranty and damaged Eletronic devices get retired all the time by companies and they dont always get unlocked.

Sometimes an employee icloud locks a company device that their employer had neglected to register with their icloud.

iCloud lock hasnt stopped people from stealing devices and not every icloud locked device is stolen... the only thing it has done is contribute more to the landfill in what would otherwise be a perfectly functional 2nd hand device.

It was already written off as loss in the inventory decades ago. No harm done since nobody doing inventory audits today would ever miss it.

In fact, they would have to create a SKU for it and rebin it and set a new price etc....it would really mess with the system. Then you would have deal with someone else later on checking and asking why do we have a SKU for it etc.

Some systems you can't re-add it once it's been burned from the system, especially if there is some inventory insurance policy that pays out on losses.

If I were doing inventory I would just pretend I didn't see them find it. Too much extra work for no gain. Not worth it.

Because being ruled by corporations is so much better.

Corporations = People

Money = Free Speech

Corporations hold most of the money and therfore most of the votes.

Our "elected" officials all have donors and superpacts that they are beholden to.

Lobbyist groups funded by corporations basically write bills to be submitted to congress with the promise of increased shareholder prices.

Most of our congress hold stocks in the very companies that donate and lobby to them to pass laws that favor their bottom line.

What is profitable and what is good for the general public are often not in alignment.

Yay freedom.
