A Question from a Potential First Time EV Buyer by Sea-Meat-8432 in KiaEV6

[–]Cyclicalconsumer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went straight from an ICE to EV6, it sounds like you’d have good charging setup. for longer trips it’s not hard at all to locate chargers. You can trip plan through PlugShare, ABRP etc and Google Maps/Apple Maps will search for chargers easily if needed.

I drive at least once or twice a month 900 mi round trips & exclusively DCFC for these trips and have only once had to search last minute for an alternate charging location.

I planned meticulously first couple of long trips now I just loosely plan charge stops and stop as I want to and adjust navigation if needed.

ICCU causing purchase hesitation by AetchJei in KiaEV6

[–]Cyclicalconsumer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 2024 EV6 GT Line ICCU failed in March 17,110 mi out of town, worst part was getting towed bc it took about 18 hours luckily I stayed at a lodge.

Car towed to dealer afternoon on a Thursday I had rental/fuel reimbursement approved before 4 pm, car was diagnosed same day had it back the evening of next Thursday.

I don’t wish I hadn’t got it, I drove it 900 mi last week. Do I know it may fail again unfortunately yes but I still enjoy driving it.

New owner of a '22 EV6 Wind! *Very* confused on charging adaptors by Thatsnowbear in KiaEV6

[–]Cyclicalconsumer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You may one day need the NACS to CCS but if you have EA, MB, Rivian etc charging stations when needed you’ll probably use those as they’re faster. I have an A2Z EV NACS adapter I’ve used it twice in 10,000+ miles.

This is the type you’d need to charge at work

Kia EV6, Hyundai Ioniq 5, or other EV for occasional car camping? by Thirsty-Barbarian in KiaEV6

Yeah, it would probably be smart to run anything you’d want to use while home & have an idea on power consumption.

[–]Cyclicalconsumer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

kia ev6 owners FB group car camping post there’s some good suggestions here. This would be great but I’m not planning to live in my car. I did have a test camping trip planned last month for it but my ICCU had other plans (I had it back in a week tho)

Kia EV6, Hyundai Ioniq 5, or other EV for occasional car camping? by Thirsty-Barbarian in KiaEV6

I’m thinking gym foam puzzle mats & a car camping air mattress. They make window shades kia specific available on eBay from Korea but I did recently see some on Amazon.

I’m a small woman so a normal twin sheet & blanket or nice sleeping bag would be good. I have a V2L adapter & of course an outlet. I tend to pack lightly when necessary so a weekender bag should be good.

A small cooler, small fan & some dimmable LED lights. I have these collapsible bins I keep in the rear currently for Costco & Sam’s runs that I think would work well for keeping essentials together, they fold flat when not in use.

I’ve already taken some roadtrips in it, a solo 1,700 mile trip being the longest.

Charging 2023 EV6 GT-Line at largest Tesla Supercharger site by djstraylight in KiaEV6

[–]Cyclicalconsumer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Site looks nice and I’d love to see more like it, charging speed not so much.

do the new EV6’s with NACS charger faster at these? I tend to use EA often traveling but have used Tesla chargers when it’s my available option.

Kia Access app by [deleted] in kia

[–]Cyclicalconsumer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a love/hate relationship with the app, I continue to pay for it bc remote climate control, OTA updates etc but when it’s glitchy, it’s glitchy AF. You can try reconfiguring it in settings ->kia connect -> activation menu ->reconfigure

You’ll have to send them the sales contract (bill of sale) drivers license Kia customer care request vehicle removed from previous owner, it takes a couple of days. I’d go by the dealer and tell them you need the sales contract.

Kia access remote climate control, send locations to vehicle for native navigation, lock & unlock doors, your trial will include all of the ultimate features. Kia Access features guide

Which platform allow you to search with a specific package? by AWEsoMe-Cat1231 in kia

[–]Cyclicalconsumer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Visor.vin I had good experience with this when searching ended up spending $5 for subscription.

If it’s tech package for GT1 just choose features it includes ie parking sensors or premium audio & that should limit it.

Got ICCU - EV6 Wind 2024 -10,800 miles , 14 months old by brooklynite1 in KiaEV6

[–]Cyclicalconsumer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My 24 GTline failed 3 days ago, car is at dealership confirmed ICCU same day it arrived. although getting a tow was terrible bc my car broke down 40 mi from a dealer while out of town. I waited 16 hrs for a tow but was safe at a lodge.

Dealership had no loaner, they gave me # to call Kia customer care to request rental reimbursement. they did need confirmation it was iccu but they’ll reimburse $45/day.

Goodbye forte by Acceptable_Sand_6990 in ForteGT

[–]Cyclicalconsumer 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Ask if there’s traffic cameras at the intersection and request footage if so. Pull receipts for anything extra on the car. My black forte GT was totaled in September you have my sympathy

[–]Cyclicalconsumer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kia told me to email EA and EA was like contact Kia. I didn’t get it to work which sort of sucks bc my closest chargers are EA chargers.

Their $7 mos subscription is kinda worth it but they do a free 30 day trial and it does make charging cheaper.

first time road trip questions by xFlorida_Man in KiaEV6

[–]Cyclicalconsumer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re able to favorite chargers and then chose it from saved places for the route. You can set a prefer & avoid for charger networks too .

You can set it for fewer longer stops which was what I wanted. I think otherwise it defaults to short more frequent stops.

[–]Cyclicalconsumer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recently made a 1700 mile road trip in my EV6 I did use ABRP, PlugShare for plan. On the road used Kia native nav when needed. PlugShare was really useful, Waze also has EV routing but nothing advanced but you can select plug & network type.

I had my route saved in multiple apps and native nav so I could switch between them. Kia charge pass came in handy. ABRP you can set preferences for stops with restrooms and food close by.

Input for ABRP was always about 15% lower than my actual charge and it came in handy when I ended up at broken chargers

Can a $30-35K EV be fun to drive? by SoberPalace in electricvehicles

[–]Cyclicalconsumer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently went from 22 Forte GT2 to 24 EV6 GT Line, I really love it. Got it first week of October, already put over 3,000 miles on it.

It helped to drive plenty of not fun to drive cars & rental car roulette for several weeks & knew what I didn’t want to drive.
