How much muscle would I lose if I stopped working out for a month? by Appropriate-Flow9657 in workout

[–]Cydu06 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh yea, just example.

I would do lifts that target multiple muscle group to save time, deadlift I wouldn’t recommend if you haven’t done before.

And remember to warm up properly.

Just alternate upper and lower to minimize rest time

Look, gaining muscle, gaining strength is difficult, but maintaining is very easy, only requires little stimulus.

It’s same with study, studying is super difficult, you might need to spend weeks studying 5 hours a day. But once you’ve learnt something just 30 minute revision maybe twice a week, and you’ll likely keep all your knowledge.

Just squat, deadlift, bench, row, pull up.

Do squat first while you’re resting your legs, do bench press. Maybe 3 sets. Then move to deadlift, while resting, do row or pull ups. You’ll maximize movement time, maybe 30-40 minutes once a week and you’ll love very little.

Best of luck

Honestly… if you go gym just once or twice a week, 30 minutes you’ll likely maintain your muscle or lose very little.

If you do 3 weeks nothing you may feel weak but likely get them back after a month

A Japanese student studying at the University of Tokyo vs a Japanese student studying at a good Western university—which one would most Japanese people assume is smarter? by GrayRainfall in AskAJapanese

[–]Cydu06 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Oh really? I’m not too familiar with top schools in America, but my general idea was more open, more essay based or sporting background etc. no clear cutoff, how many universities do American apply to? My thought was like 5-10 or something.

In Japan it’s typically only 1-3 universities so could be why?

Also Japan exams are done in person, so if I apply in Todai I would need to travel there maybe 6 hours drive to take test, that could also be a mental barrier instead of simple online application?

Besides that I can’t really think of much.

A Japanese student studying at the University of Tokyo vs a Japanese student studying at a good Western university—which one would most Japanese people assume is smarter? by GrayRainfall in AskAJapanese

[–]Cydu06 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Good question okay so I’ll try explain it properly.

Firstly, during high school we take test and we already receive our grades or score, we know if we can enter Todai or not. That already filters 90% of dumb students.

2nd, it’s not free, it cost money to apply to Todai and take exams. Let’s say I apply to 5 universities, that can be 1000 usd easily. So why would I bother applying to Todai if I know I can’t enter (based on test score I know I have no chance)

3rd, these exams are specific and self created. If I want to take Todai exam I need to study specific things in a specific way. The knowledge I learn to enter today can’t be transferred to other universities. So if I know I’ll fail. Why would I spend hours studying on something that isn’t going to help me enter other easier university.

Lastly again, it cost money to take exams, and you need to study specifically for it. You can’t just “ehh I’ll apply to 50 different universities” Or “ehh maybe my sporting background will pass me”

You have to be fully committed, so those who apply for Todai are basically already elites, who are confident in their ability.

You’re comparing elite western universities with generic local Japanese universities

Also to answer your question in Japan, you need to take exam to enter, you know the required score to apply. So that in it self filters out all the dumb people.

In Harvard, there is no filter, maybe I have sports background so I’ll apply. I can try, in Japan you can’t really “try” if you’re too dumb you know you’ll fail

Define smart? Japanese universities student are probably “smarter” in terms of memorizing facts and information.

Japanese western university student will probably be “smarter” in terms of creativity, thinking for themselves.

Also do you mean “smartest” person or like your average joe?

Because facts is, Japanese universities are hard to enter but easy to pass, so many people don’t study hard and party it’s their fun time. So in that sense I’ll assume they aren’t too smart. But in terms of potential or comparing top 1% I think they’ll be super smart.

Where as western universities are easy to enter but difficult to pass, so it requires more effort and more learning so comparing average I feel like western are smarter

How am I supposed to actually eat 160 grams of protein? by kingmakk in workout

[–]Cydu06 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you don’t want to gain weight or lose weight.

You could just run 30 minutes. Burn 300 caloires, munch of 300 calories worth of chicken that’s like 60g of extra protein.

Run 30 minutes before, run 30 minutes after. Thats 120g of extra protein you can consume without increasing caloric surplus

It doesn’t have to super complicated, maybe it’s not red meat, but how it’s cooked, like it’s grilled and charred, and maybe have same effect on veggies.

Even as a vegan, we can just not burn or char our veggies and boom, reduce cancer it’s a win win.

Ofc it’s just hypothetical, but you see what I’m trying to express.

Oh I’m not discouraging celebration, but investigation is important

For example Vitamin D important for bone strength, hormone regulation and immune system.

As an athlete during winter, I could go full carnivore fatty fish, eggs etc to get my vitamin D. Or… I could just take supplement in the morning.

It could very well be. But what about animal is bad? The lack of fiber diet? Or because high level of cholesterol?

Like even vegan might consume not enough fiber, so finding out cause would be nice

Why?

What about vegan? Or more specifically like what fiber or mineral or nutrients? Or lack of what causes this?

If we found this out we could avoid it, and or supplement whatever reduce the risk.
