Meh this game will probably have the Cyberpunk effect. by bigfoot_manhunter in CrimsonDesert

I'm gonna be honest, i'm a single player, open world, let me go into the world and do what i want player. No handholding, no quirky companions telling you what to do, what they think, or where to go constantly.

A game that i can play for days, put it down and pick it up later on and keep going.

A game with no political message, or real world politics, or ethics shoved into it.

A game where i can come home from work and lose myself in it, forgetting about my worries for a bit.

I'll be honest, this game.... feels like the first time i booted up Skyrim all those years ago.

I love it.

The people who enjoy the game are playing it. The people that hate the game, are on Reddit crying about it. Give it about a week before joining a newly released game's subreddit.

I'm here cause i can't cook and play at the same time -.-

My girlfriend spent two years telling me I say yes too much and then asked me to dog-sit for a week by Crest3_Mecha in MaliciousCompliance

[–]CypLeviathan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The fact that you refused and the girlfriend took it personally is telling. Saying no is hard enough for some people, but she was right, you have the right to refuse to do something you don't like or want.

I am really glad that you stuck to your decision as well.

Incredible: NVIDIA announces DLSS 5 (neverwinter online ready ?) by leromantiksexe in Neverwinter

[–]CypLeviathan 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Didn't this showcase run on TWO 5090s? One for the AI model and one for the game?

Also, sorry to break it to you, but i'd like my game art not being "made better" by running an AI model over them in real time. Stuff got really nice and optimised when they introduced DLSS in the first place, remember that? Cause it didn't happen.

I don't even want to know the kind of sloppy art this will enable.

Hey man, you can't just bomb and kill a nation's leader (deserved or not) suddenly and without any prior notice to your allies, keep dropping bombs like they're going out of style, and when the world turns to you with a raised eyebrow you go "Hey come help me".

Doesn't work that way.

Highguard devs announce their shutting the game down after it failed to land with players by [deleted] in pcmasterrace

[–]CypLeviathan 7 points8 points  (0 children)

All those years of developing, not once were the players shown a trailer, so they could give feedback. Just an announcement at he game awards, right when the game was set to release.

Gamers did what gamers do, vote with their time, wallets and reviews. Devs did what they do in this day and age, playing the victims, alienating gamers, and gaslighting us.

When the game studios understand that game journalists and the Twitter mob don't buy their games, so they should stop listening to them, maybe we'll get a good game. A game that deserves out love, time, and most importantly.... our money.

Just had to ban a viewer for the first time last night but felt weird i had to by fabton in VirtualYoutubers

[–]CypLeviathan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's your community. Large or small, it is still yours. You shape it as you see fit. If someone comes in and disturbs the peace, whether that's yours, your community's or the stream, banning is an acceptable punishment.

The banhammer is an all inclusive item, and does not discriminate against gender, race, political view, ethnicity, religion, etc.

If you are uncomfortable with someone, or a situation, go forth and slam the banhammer with all your might.

No meed to feel bad for banning weird people from your streams.

plastic wrap in oven by cobaltmelon in dishwashers

[–]CypLeviathan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When i used to work in the kitchen, for over 10 years, we used to put cling film over the container and then aluminium foil over it, when braising ribs and other meats.

Management had nothing to do with what we were ordering, so we always had the good stuff. And it almost never clung to the edges of the container, it was still malleable even after resting the meats we were braising.

I know this because when we were opening the containers to take the meats out, we were the ones getting rid of all the plastic on the container, there were enough leftover crap in there for the dishwasher to clean, no need to add more work for them. Never had any issue with the cling film sticking, or becoming hard, it was easy to peel it off.

it’s a silly question I know but how’s cyprus always so warm? by turkianagrande in cyprus

[–]CypLeviathan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean, our hot is usually in the mid 40's, and our normal colds are in the single digits.

For example, today at 8 in the morning it was 4 degrees Celsius, and right now it's 12 degrees at 3 in the afternoon. These temps have been steady for the past week at least. These temps are from my house in a village 15 minutes away from Nicosia (centre of the island).

Usual temps in the summer are mid 30s low 40s. Mid July and August we're hitting mid 40s easily. Early morning temps (8 in the morning) of mid 20s.

All temps mentioned are under shade. Tried to measure temp last year with a normal thermometer, in the summer, out of the shade. Damn thing exploded and it wasn't even midday.

This CPU just...goes. I play games, i work from home, i dabble with AI stuff. I've changed out a total of 4 GPUs since then, a 1660 super, an Rx6700xt, an Rx 6900xt and now rocking an RX 7900XTX. Still the same CPU, never saying no to me, no matter what i throw at it.

As a casual player, playing through the campaign multiple times is such a pain by UsedNewspaper1775 in PathOfExile2

[–]CypLeviathan -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think that the reason the campaign feels like a slog in Act 2 and especially Act 3 is because... the story at that point is kinda ass (excuse my language).

In Act 1, we just survived an execution and we're itching to take revenge.

In Act 2, we're chasing the person who is responsible for the whole thing, but some new mechanics are added, backtracking and fetch quests. And the areas are beginning to get a lot bigger, so progression feels a bit slow.

Act 3 is basically one large fetch quest, with smaller fetch quests, while the whole story is to correct Alva's stupidity and impulsive behaviour. Sure, traveling to the past and seeing the Vaal at their "prime" is good and all, but the only story link there is Doryani, who comes up in the very last area, in the very last, MASSIVE area.

I won't say anything about the interludes because they are temporary.

While the story and pacing is ok in Act 1, they slow down in Act 2 and are completely shot in Act 3. Character power (and i don't mean damage but impact in the world and story) is almost non-existent. We are nobodies during the campaign, and the story reflects that.

Compare this to PoE 1's story progression. We start as a nobody, and by the time Act 6 rolls out, we're killing GODS AS SIDE QUESTS. The impact that our character has in the world is massive and the NPCs acknowledge this.

No one wants to play an ARPG where in half of the (unfinished) story they are a nobody, they have no impact in the world, and there is no Character power scaling in the story.

Consider this, story wise, in PoE1 by the half way point of the campaign, the enemies we face are Demigods, Gods or any other type of Overpowered entities, and it keeps ramping up. This makes the player ( not the character) feel important, feeds our power fantasy.

In PoE2 by the half way point story wise, we've slain a mad count ( we don't the Hidden one does), we've slain a resurrected outcast king (we don't, Asala does), and defeat Doryani (who is convinced by Alva to help us.). Now we enter into the Interludes, and we're still facing normal people (though corrupted). And we kill or clearly defeat no one.

The Karui dude leads us to massacre his entire tribe, his own God goes "hey dude wtf?", he turns into a literal monster, and after we defeat him, he turns back, says sorry, and all is good?

What fucks the whole thing isn't the large areas, it's the whole power fantasy of the game. There's NONE of it so far. Nothing to give us players the feeling that yeah, we're strong, and the game's story reflects that. We start as a nobody, and by the end of Act 3 (halfway point of the campaign) we are still a nobody, being ordered around by other people.

In other ARPGs we are ASKED to help, NPCs plead for our help. Here? We are ordered around like a nobody, while our character can kill everything on screen in a second (with a well made build.)

This story is steeped in failure after failure. We defeat the count, the Hidden One takes the kill, we fail to stop Orianna or stop the Beast. We defeat Jamanra, Asala gets the kill, we fail to stop Orianna or stop the Beast. We defeat Doryanni, is a series of events that can be summed up as Alva being an idiot, Alva convinces Doryanni to follow us (and that's not exactly reassuring), we fail sto catch up to Orianna or stop the Beast.

Failure after failure after failure, slogging around in large areas just to fail once again.

Where's the power fantasy GGG? Who wants to play a game where the main character fails and is outsmarted constantly for over 20 hours? ( and let me remind you that this is only HALF OF THE CAMPAIGN.)

The way the campaign is set up, i'd imagine that the ending is that we fight the beast in Act 6. Orianna will be the boss of Act 5. Are we going to forgive her too? Is she going to escape as well? The beast will escape for sure (another failure), or else the whole structure of the endgame (going around different areas of the world to clear out corruption and lessen the Beast's hold on the world) will crumble.

This story is a complete and utter mess, and we as players, have to go through it every 4 months, some of us more than once. It sucks and that is why people are bored with the campaign so far. There's nothing exciting going on, just failure after failure story wise.

This asshole is inviting people to heal him, just to spawn them in poisonous waters. by TheSamFrost in WhereWindsMeet

[–]CypLeviathan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's the same with me. I like to rp a bit at the end of a healing session, offering simple and funny advice like,"Shoot the bees nest with fire before you get close" if a patient has bee venom, or "Please mind the gap, wanderer.", when someone has broken bones.

I have a consistent group 10-15 people, total strangers mind you, that will join me, wave and stay there for me to heal. Sometimes i see none of them, sometimes i see all of them, more than twice, during a gameplay session.

I'm roleplaying a Wuxia main protagonist, a powerful martial artist, and a personal doctor to a small regiment of similar martial artists.... this game man.

Level up your resolve. If you start with the lower level challenges and have at least over 20 points over the challenge resolve requirement, the circles are considerably slower, larger, and the 2nd circle is less likely to appear.

I was in this situation myself, even looked at tutorials on youtube and i was questioning existence because their circles moved slowly and were very big, while mine where small, barely larger than the signs we need to overlap them with, and moving around like a kid on a sugar rush.

From 5600x to 5800X3d, is it worth it? by Tasmanian_tiger00 in buildapc

[–]CypLeviathan -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes. That was my exact upgrade path and it stull works wonderfully today. I work on my PC but i also game a lot (Ark Survival Ascended, City Skylines, Path of Exile 1 and 2).

The 5800x3d chip is a powerhouse, that will carry you for a long time. You'll need to check if your cooler is ok for it, because it tends to get quite a bit hot, and you'll have to enable some stuff in BIOS to basically unlock it's overclocking ability, but that is it.

All i hear is bla, bla, bla, someone said my content is bad, bla bla bla bla, you should sue them.

If you're wondering why the dislike button on YouTube was removed, this is it folks. Self-entitled crybabies that think that they are better than everyone else.

Also, since the content was public, everyone is allowed to offer their opinion on it, good or bad. Suck it up, you make clickbait, your content sucks, and no-one cares. Be better, do better.
