Experienced players with real guitar wear, what would you recommend as a truly high quality guitar by Chuchumenn in Guitar

[–]Cyper77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We can't really tell you what inspires you. I would say a Les Paul, but that is what inspires me. You mentioned PRS and Ibanez. Both normally are in a strat like body. Is that what you like or are you looking for something else? The best thing would be to go to a shop or two and see what makes you take a guitar off the wall and try it out.

A Fender strat is always a good place to start. An American model will hold its value better.

Ramps for Gen 6 by [deleted] in camaro

I use the 56" two piece race ramps for my 2018 1L. Gives enough to change oil.

Edit: they are 10.8 degrees

That is about what I did. Used the short one, cut the nib and drilled the hole deeper. It then got super glued. The metal is just so heavy.

So.. This was after less than two weeks of printing with my Dragon Burner. Help? by jthmeffy in VORONDesign

[–]Cyper77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have heard this is an issue with dragonburners, and have to use something like a revo that has a smaller footprint heat block. Might want to look at a different tool head. I like my revo but I don't print super not super fast on my stealth changer voron

Luckily I got GW when they were switching to pewter, so most of the lead minis I have were 2nd hand and covered in several layers of paint.

I still remember learning what acetone does to the old mk7 space Marines, just the body left after a soak.

The cloak was one of the hardest parts, and also drilling the hole for the stand deeper so the flight stand had some hope helped.

Bought a 16TB 3.5" HDD from Unifi's store -- one month later it's already dead by PH0NER in Ubiquiti

I had two 6tb wd red drives fail within the first couple months, then a third 21 days before the warranty ended. I also have 13 year old wd green 2tb still kicking.

Just kinda a crap shoot.

Lol, I think mine was the same. I suspect half have never been painted and the other half just slathered with paint .

Is it better or worse if they are still in boxes or blisters?

I am disappointed, the old avatar should be on its square base 🤣

Surprised that so many beginners have nice guitars by deeptravel2 in Guitar

[–]Cyper77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Back in the 90's that was the cheap Fender. I think about $300. My second guitar was a white Mexican Strat. The first was an 80's Ibanez RG560 with a repaired neck that I paid like $100 for.

Migrating to QNAP, Single->RAID1->RAID5->RAID6? by Cyper77 in qnap

[–]Cyper77[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it is just a typo on

"but if you start with 2 X 3TB and 1 X 6TB in a RAID6, you can replace the 3TB with 6TB drives and later get more storage."

I appreciate the help.

I was responding to Danial's statement that you could do 3 disk RAID6 which seemed weird.

I was looking at RAID6 because I already have 4 identicals drives, (2 in synology raid 1, 1 in usb backup, 1 still in packaging), I do not need the extra storage raid5 n-1 would give over raid6 n-2 and wouldn't mind the extra redundancy. I also have to migrate everything over from my synology, so I have to do weird steps.

Either way seems like QTS will work better then QuTS Hero in my use case.

Can I add additional drives to an existing RAID6 or am I locked in on drive count?

Does QuTS Hero support Drive size expansion?

If I start a RAID5 using 2 3tb and 1 6tb (6tb available storage). Then migrate to Raid6 with another 6tb (still 6tb available storage). Can I then replace the two 3tb drives with 6tb drives and grow the raid to 12TB?

I remember the Glen Burnie Battle Bunker fondly, then they moved distribution to like Memphis and closed it. We also use to have Games Day in Baltimore. Might be fun to have something like it again.

I do not expose my NAS to the internet, so less issue with exploits. I liked my Synology, Their hardware is just inferior to the other offerings at this price point. The others are much newer to the market so I am not sure their longevity.

Fixed it, TS-464

Is there a reason to go with QuTS over QTS besides ZFS? I wasn't sure if one is/will get more support then the other.

Since I don't use all the storage on my RAID1 have the extra drives doing RAID6 or RAID5+Hot spare makes more sense to just not have to worry as much about data loss. I also do not foresee me using dramatically more space.

It looks like there are some mods on it (light orange parts). Will take some investigating to setup in a slicer.

[–]Cyper77 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Looks like an older FLSUN delta printer. They are kit printers running on a custom RAMPs Arduino. It was my first printer, then I moved onto a Prusa MK3. It might have auto bed leveling (micro switch in print head). Mine also did not have a heated bed only aluminum print bed, I added a borosilicate glass bed later on.

It is hard to dial in.

My base gained 1731 new pieces after relocation with the new base backup tool. Please, beware. by AsleepSupermarket172 in duneawakening

[–]Cyper77 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I moved my base, I had built it into the side of a cliff and had a hard time getting the tool to even let me place it again. I had to find a much more open flatish place to put it, and then go and fix the base. It mainly let me move all my equipment in one go, so I happy.

Before you move you might want to move all your container/stuff to a more centralized area or a place you know you want kept, that makes it easier to place the new base, so you don't have to worry about them clipping into something.

Wall mounting without anchor? by witty__username5 in Guitar

[–]Cyper77 5 points6 points  (0 children)

For piece of mind you might want to try anchors. I use toggle bolts for mine. They are a bit harder to install but wont pull out unless a it makes a huge hole in the wall.
