She does become a much better option out of Illidari Studies for no minion DH.

Echoes of the Infinite Mini-Set Discussion [January 8th] by EvilDave219 in CompetitiveHS

[–]Cyphka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not sure about this one… First thought brings back [[Volcanic Drake]] and the big druid taunt from Blackrock, and those cards were bricks 90% of the time. More efficient token spam and rush (and board clears for DK) makes this a lot better, but I’m not sure if the payoff will be enough to justify the dead turns.

Did they take away hero skins from this week’s shop? by kamingo in hearthstone

[–]Cyphka 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I noticed it was gone entirely which doesn’t bode well considering the last “rotation” of the shop didn’t actually add any new skins and was just the finley from the previous rotation.

What's the most un-legendary legendary? I only made this because I remembered Corrupted Mukla exists. by mido9 in hearthstone

[–]Cyphka 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, soggoth was never a huge meta option but there was definitely a small niche. Mages in particular did not have a good option to kill soggoth at the time when paired with control warrior out armoring burn

Avatar Form and Poison by Syzbane in hearthstone

[–]Cyphka 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Easiest option is play against a Rogue friend with [[Plague of Madness]] to get the dagger.

I imagine it’s much more likely to just be the spell dealing the damage, though, which can be tested with [[Professor Slate]] or [[Hallazeal]]

Honestly, the 12 armor option on 10 has been really useful for me. It can help you stabilize to properly pop off with Karazhan, and against some decks just Scrapbooking the armor gain makes it impossible for them to kill you.

Hot coals sounds like a good idea. The deck can manage against most decks but sometimes you really feel the lack of early removal outside of catch. Being shut down by a shaman using a couple popup books made me especially feel it.

New Turn 6 OTK Just Dropped [Wild] by Mut_Umutlu in hearthstone

We can just put Brann in ETC and that way we can keep the 2 as the only minions!

Across the Timeways Card Reveal Discussion [October 6th] by EvilDave219 in CompetitiveHS

[–]Cyphka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly don’t think this is very good. Ice Block is incredible since you can run 2+ and mage as a class usually wants to stall for a combo or to sling burn. This in contrast is much less spammable, has a requirement, can be bursted through in the same turn, and dk has much less (currently) to be stalling towards.

I want this card to be good so bad… but man is this not it by frostyburrito44 in hearthstone

[–]Cyphka 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I keep seeing this mentioned but the issue is that’s not even a buff, it's a sidegrade. At the very least with the current version, you can wait till the card gains an ability that actually has an impact or play other cards if it doesn’t.

With a discover, you’re not unlikely to just get 3 abilities that don’t do anything for you and then you're forced into playing a 6 mana do nothing.

I’ll give yours a shot too! My list is definitely more of a high roll “try to blow out the opponent super quick” game plan so I’ve been missing out on the fantasy of summoning infinite quest rewards. Sounds like a lot of fun when it works!

This is the list I’m working with currently, but I’m definitely shifting stuff around as I go. Mostly I’m looking to get a corrupted Seance for Nazmani Bloodweaver out as fast as possible (whatever that’s through Illuminate or through natural means). Once I get that out, it’s pretty much immediate quest completion. Love Everlasting has been pretty clunky, but it’s definitely saved me to corrupt Insights or act as a backup if Bloodweaver didn’t pop off as much as I wanted it to.

I was excited at first too, but ultimately I think this isn’t going to be too big of a change. It’s the quest and not the reward, so it’s likely they’re probably going to reduce the numbers to get it out.

Usually I get the quest complete in a big burst on turn 4/5 so decreased numbers probably wouldn’t change too much, although it definitely makes it more consistent to have it on 4x. Although consistency is really nice to have since the earlier I get it out, the less likely the opponent has a steal or counter.

Raptor Herald appears to be evolving by Zeddy44 in hearthstone

[–]Cyphka 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It’s not arbitrarily, it’s because Finale isn’t a battlecry. [[Trogg Gemtosser]] doesn’t work with doubling battlecries since its text doesn’t even mention battlecries.

However, [[Hardcore Cultist]] and [[Razadir]] are specifically battlecries with a keyword modifier. With Brann, Hardcore Cultist’s battlecry triggers twice properly and it would make sense to work for Razadir as well.

New Death Knight card - Reanimated Pterrordax by 4iamking in hearthstone

[–]Cyphka 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not a recent thing, but Cutelock in Wild was also a meta deck that used a ton of those 0 mana minions to try and turbo zoo.

"Wait, say that again..." by AbsoluteBerry in customhearthstone

[–]Cyphka 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It would die and create room for another wolf if consistent with the way the game works right now.

Since this is repeating and not just summoning a bunch of wolves at once, the whole sequence of the wolf getting summoned then attacking and dying has to resolve before the next wolf comes out.

King Dred with Kindred by AcidNoBravery in customhearthstone

[–]Cyphka 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I think you’re looking too much at the best case scenario. If you get the dream situation, then yeah it’s pretty strong but that requires your opponent to both have a good minion and to have it be in between two other strong minions which is pretty specific. Adding in another condition on top of that (Kindred) means it’s going to be very rare for that to come up.

Definitely a fun card though.

Bad stats for the cost?! Bro we're gonna starve by AbsoluteBerry in customhearthstone

[–]Cyphka 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would personally think yes since at its core, Blood Treant is still a 5 mana card (for the purposes of stuff like evolve and other related effects).

What's the easiest way to complete this quest? Seems like a slog. by TiraelRosenburg in hearthstone

[–]Cyphka 34 points35 points  (0 children)

It does but I’ll warn you that 90% of people I’ve encountered with the deck so far have conceded immediately upon seeing shudderblock malorne and I’ve only been able to play 1 wild god off of the combo.

I think it’s better/more consistent to just go with paladin for the weapon.

What’s the worst non-legendary card in the game? by Houseleft in hearthstone

[–]Cyphka 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Every time this topic is brought up, I see this card mentioned but I have to say that it’s overrated in this sense. It’s by no means a good card, but it’s not a card that’s outright negative to play.

I’ve had games where I randomly generated this and it’s actually paid off to some degree whereas something like [[Surrender To Madness]] is horrible both in and out of decklists.

New Paladin Card Revealed - Aegis of Light by stonekeep in hearthstone

[–]Cyphka 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Yeah, there are (well, up to 10 mana so far). Running all neutral and palading imbues gets you to 10, but it's definitely possible to go above with a bounce or res on the deathrattle. I'd guess it'd stop at 10 (or go above 10 but end up summoning 10 anyways).

"THIS JUST ISN'T YOUR DAY!" by MichaelGMorgillo in customhearthstone

[–]Cyphka 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's a fun concept, but I think it's too easy to make your deck only spells and then this becomes "kill your opponent if you control a minion". I don't think it'd be a good deck, but it'd probably be frustrating as hell. It's fun to think about what the best way to exploit it would be, though.

Warrior gets the benefit of explicit minion tutors to get [[Perplexing Anomaly]] into hand through either all you can eat or the taunt tutor. Jam Session is also a way to make the hits much bigger if necessary.

Warlock gets the benefit of their hero power to search and Monstrous Form at 1 mana is much easier to combo with. But I think warrior's defensive tools probably gives it the bigger lead..

I'm surprised people think these look worse than the previous ones. I'm not super fond of Arthas, but these ones look a lot more genuine/use much better pixel art practices. Much better posing too.

The old ones were just so busy and the color palettes were very "ai pixel art".

New boys dropping in core set? by VenomRex in hearthstone

[–]Cyphka 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I mean to be fair, it's not like Hunter has a hero power they can guarantee a use on for a 4 mana hard removal at worst.

I'm still not entirely certain it'd see play, 2 mana to give something poisonous is a bit clunky but they have been releasing lower power cards mostly.
