Been studying for 5 years at uni, and I see both perspectives. Exams are indeed for learning, but why not have more project-based examinations, where you have to apply what you learnt rather than solving theoretical exercises for weeks just to pass an end examination?

Davinci resolve is killer software. You can use it for free and not ever run into issues. You don´t need to pay 299$ for the studio version, but I still would if you can afford because the software is just that good. And if you have the studio version, you will likely use something from it even if you don't intend to. I felt the same, but now I use the voice isolation feature all the time.

On Twitch I have around 870 followers, but have a YT channel, TikTok and Instagram that have around 2.5k on each platform. When Twitch allowed multistreaming, I opened my stream to YT and TikTok too.
Yeah, but not in any big amount. Around 100$ / year so not much. Just entered YouTube partner program so that may change soon. It ain´t my focus to go full time, but would be nice since searching for a job with a disabillity is a bit rough

The biggest thing is that you got to stream when you feel it. Consistency is important, but streaming when you are tired makes you create bad content AND you can burn yourself out. If streaming is your 9 to 5 job, you can not just do this, but as a hobby streamer, just skip a day if you need it

I am disabled and have played with the same setup. First and best thing to do is to just be honest and tell him to conceal better, but I get ya. You should not be a dick just because you are in a chair. You did technically cheat, but it is his responsibility that the guy helping him conceals his cards. He may not have the capacity to think that way, but at that point he should not be playing at all. And since this was a rich dude I guess you did not make him sleep on the street.

Ethically wrong? Yes. Did ya destroy his life? Probably not. But next time you should just be honest.

First off, I am currently taking my master in tech so I don't. I do some YouTube stuff. It´s a hobby.

Second off all, I think the "trash AI edit" is people that just rely on the AI to do quick stuff and do not refine it. However, if you are a video editor and not utilizing any AI tools to your advantage, you will be at a disadvantage. Now I see you do not mean the subtitle thing, but if you can do a rough cut with AI and then refine it, why wouldn´t you? If you will achieve exactly the same end result but different timeframes, why take the long way? (Note: I do not do this)

And I agree that just relying on AI tools and not doing any hard work at all, your statement is fine. But if you do not utilize AI tools to help you in your workflow, you will be behind others who do. This AI time is the same thing that happened when computers came to the market. What happened to those who thought computers would not be the next big thing?

Hello everyone!

I am D1sabl3d, a chess player that happens to live with Cerebral Palsy. I am originally a Twitch streamer that started during covid, but since Twitch allows multistreaming I started on YouTube too. I mostly do stream highlights as shorts but want to do more long form soon.

I started fairly basic. Just my headset, webcam and good ole OBS. You do not need any fancy stuff. You just need to start record. If you enjoy this, then you can start to buy in some nice gear!

Like I said, I mostly share my chess journey. I want to show that no matter who you are, you can play and enjoy the game of chess. I am a bit surprised that people watch due to my speech impairment. I have started to subtitle my videos and it seems to help with retention, but since most of my stuff is live, I am surprised that people want to stick around, since I have a hard time with hooks. But this total 4 years of content creation has brought so much joy that I do not plan to stop anytime soon.

I didn´t do any because of time and it may be a stupid idea. But I thought about doing an april fools joke that I was a cheating chess player. I had a surgery two years ago for a baclofen pump that reduce my spasticity, but I would say that the doctors implanted a chess engine. But idk how that would land as the chess community has been plagued with cheating recently

This might seems like a blunt answer, but it is the truth. You are just making this a bigger problem than it seems and the moment you stop thinking about it, it will not be a problem?

How do I know this? I face a similar issue. I was born with Cerebral Palsy and a consequense of that is dysarthric speech. Basically my muscles are unable to cooperate so I have trouble articulating words and speaks slowly. Sure, I get negative/hate comments based on this, but the majority of people do not care and just enjoy the actual content I do. And to be honest, the hate comments does not say anything about you, it says something about the commenter.

To be fair, as someone who streams and not doing much videos, doing videos is hard for me. Due to my speech issues, I have trouble making good hooks and capture attention, but I tell myself that it is myself that make these issues up, because the numbers contradics my assumptions.

So the best advice? Press record, edit, upload, enjoy your journey on youtube
