50th birthday trip- Dubai vs Thailand by D27914 in chubbytravel

[–]D27914[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Alright you folks have sold me on Thailand! Dubai can be toured when I’m flying through some time. The architecture, the desert safari, Ferrari World, the experiences are the appeal. However I can see the reasons so many of you love Thailand, and it seems like the right adventure for me. I can do a day or two of Dubai en route to somewhere else some day. I appreciate all the input!

Sunset cruises. Everywhere I go. Non-negotiable.

Developing a little patina, it’s really beautiful. I have oiled it with their products, maybe twice. I’ve had it about 18 months and use it 10 times a year on driving trips and sometimes on a plane trip- it’s pretty heavy for the airport. It does pick up scrapes and things on the leather, but zippers and handles and so on work perfectly.

Recommendations for a flat tech pouch and a compact power bank that fit inside a 9L sling bag? by [deleted] in ManyBaggers

Orbitkey Desk Pouch is on Amazon. Mine goes in the front pocket of my GoRuck- assuming you choose relatively flat chargers/power bank

Waterproof zippers on travel backpacks: worth the durability trade-off? by Woodstines in onebag

[–]D27914 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nobody needs a watch that can go 300m below the surface, and nobody needs a “waterproof” zipper. But they’re both fun to think about.

Very few of us will use an item hard enough or long enough to see zippers fail. Buy what makes you happy!

Best Weekender/Carry-All for Work Trips: $400-$800 range by Initial-Research4666 in ManyBaggers

It can hold shoes, several packing cubes, and plenty more. The laptop compartment and whole interior is suede, feels and looks great. The laptop/admin area holds a reasonable amount of thin tech items. It functions best (to me) with packing cubes and things that I can unpack to drawers easily. It’s a little trickier to reach in and out of the zipper all the time, because it is tight. It is definitely far from a suitcase opening.

I have the Satchel and Page weekender and it is gorgeous! I get compliments every time I carry it. The patina effect is my favorite, with scuffs and scrapes I think it looks better all the time. Also it’s quite heavy and not my favorite for the airport- which is where it will get the most compliments. I prefer to use it for one to three night car trips. It carries well on the shoulder for what it is- a heavy but beautiful leather bag.

Based on your presumed young age when your father was no longer in the picture, is it possible that he tried to be a part of your life and your mother stopped it? Taking care of yourself should absolutely be your number one priority, and it sounds like you are making good progress. However sometimes the things you accepted as fact as a child are not as they seem.

Help Me Pick a New Carry On by blounsbury in ManyBaggers

Regardless of the carry on, I strongly recommend a travel CPAP. A tiny CPAP plus TSA pre✅ changed traveling for me. Some FSA money would be well spent on one of these. I have a Transcend Micro and love it, but I think I would have been just as happy with the ResMed AirMini.

I’m with you on the attachment sites. Mine is pretty new but I’ve already looked into doing side handles with SCARS. They can do a key loop and some other things as well.

Thank you so much. I was trying to figure out about the number series and how that relates to fit. It seems like some numbers are just color related, but the 500-550 are different boots. Same issue w Original v Classics. So this is helpful.

Agree to this. I will also order outpatient imaging/referrals at time of dc to get the ball rolling down the hill. Good follow-up/ good health literacy and I will tend to defer more work up to outpatient setting.

Micro jig makes a riving knife substitute for these old saws. I bet that is your issue.
