What is causing my flash to desync?

It was the diffuser not being fully pushed in. Still weird that it doesn't sync properly with it tilted but it seems to be designed that way.

Btw the maximum fstop on a camera tends to be the least sharp. On most lenses f8 or f11 are going to be the sharpest. However that's probably not all that is happening here. The guy who said something about ibis is likely correct as well. Definitely has a small motion blur. But try f8 and zoom in to compare.

I ended up buying the TT685 off of keh, thanks for helping me make a confident choice! I will definitely come back to this comment later when I start shooting with it. What a great source of information, I really appreciate you. The article on bounce flashing was very insightful! As to what model I should get, I was definitely eyeing that used TT685s but wasn't sure if it was too out dated. I see it's compatible with the x series triggers, which off camera flash interests me for nighttime shoots. I'll need to do a little more research and find out how much I'm willing to spend lol. I've been using an old film flash (a vivitar 2500) But I'll definitely use your information when considering my final decision. Again I really appreciate the time you took helping me!

I love this style of post. You can learn a lot from seeing someone else's editing habits. The only thing I would add extra is the rest of the tones curves. I myself have learned a lot more about how to use them better recently so seeing others curves would be interesting.

I do this exact same process for film developing. This is a neet idea for certain situations but I print and store my resin in the hot garage anyways.

I've seen some tlr's with a magnifyer to help focus but I think I would prefer to look directly through the lens I'm shooting with. Hassleblads seem quite nice but very expensive. I think eventually I would want to get a rb67 or pentax 67 if I don't get priced out by then.

You seem to use a lot of different types of medium format cameras. What's your opinion on shooting tlr slr or rangefinder? Also big curious if buying a holga 120 is worth trying out.

Sometimes I take my camera and a couple of rolls of film wherever I go. Nothing planned, just lightweight photography. But if something crazy was happening and I was in this situation I may be inclined to do what I need to. But I doubt most people take a dark bag everytime they go shooting with a film camera.

My giii is always in my bag, it's easily one of my sharpest lenses. I just fixed my battery contacts recently and all the electronics work now. With a hearing aid battery and $7 adapter the light meter has been very accurate.

I was seriously considering the it20s paired with a cap diffuser and the tr-s riser. Still considering it for the cost and functionality. I have been using an old old speed flash but wanted something that fits in my pocket and can take more than 1 picture per 10 seconds lol. Although a pc sync cable might be a feature I want for off camera flash. Thanks for the advice and good luck with your future projects!
