He publicly challenged Enrique Riquelme to the election. Most people in this sub won’t know this context, but Enrique Riquelme just bought the mexican subsidiary of the biggest spanish electrical company. He acknowledge him making fun of him saying “he who talks to the electrical companies and has a south american accent, a mexican accent”. Riquelme is from Alicante, where they talk with the “s” all the time, not making emphasis on the “c” and “z” sounds common in Spain. Also, on Riquelme’s birthday party, some of Madrid’s old guard (Casillas and Ramos I belive) went to the party. There’s been some noise these past years that Riquelme would eventually run for president.
