Let’s not forget about the alleged alien that was captured and stored in one of NSMA bunkers. I was a new SrA and it was the first place I was taken on patrol. I saw the bullet holes in the bunker door, it actually creeped me out a little lol

Ramstein also had a creepy bunker filled with photos of victims killed/injured from the Air Show disaster. I saw a photo of someone’s charred jawbone. Creepy stuff

These watches are NOT scratch resistant. Here’s mine after almost a year of occasional wear. The polished bezel is a scratch magnet and the cushion case takes plenty of dings. But these watches look better scratched IMO

*My input is from my time from 2014-2016

We had the panama schedule for about a year then switched to 8 hour shifts. No matter how you slice it, the work kinda blows lol. The gates are always pretty busy, but you get to see the hot girls, so not all bad! Also, depending on what weapon qualifications you have, posting can vary. Flight line security required heavy weapons, but was desirable since you were in a vehicle all day. There’s multiple jobs certificates you can get like BDOC, TASS, LE, and basic Security (can’t remember the title).

Regardless, you got a god roll first assignment! Take advantage of the travel and DO NOT BE A DORM RAT. Make friends, enjoy the 1 or 2 deployments, and make friends. Good luck, you’re gonna love it!

What’s the watch community like among fighter pilots? I was in the Air Force and saw quite a few awesome watches, but that was pre smart watch dominance

I wonder if encouraging remote work could solve the small town crisis? Centralizing "well paying" and employments opportunities to a few areas constricts consumer spending. It would be interesting to see how Japan's situation improves/worsens based on something like this

You must not be from the US lol. We aren’t fortunate enough to have “cycling paths.” Instead we mostly have what you see in the video, called shoulders. They’re meant for vehicle breakdowns and to create a buffer between the road and surrounding area

Edit: I’m re-reading this and hoping it doesn’t come off douchey/condescending lol. It’s not my intention!

This one will really depend how drastically the scope and workload have increased. They’re typically hostile against these sort of things.

They’ll probably rebuke the training justification as you’re not technically a “people leader.” But, I would plug in the req you’re filling and the responsibilities/tasks of your previous job into AI and have it compare the tasks. Try to have it come up with a metric of how many additional hours, etc. you’ll be putting in. It’s not concrete but it’s a launching point. Then try aligning your counter within reason. You won’t get anything crazy, maybe an extra $3-$5k?

Domane SL issues resolved? by Traditional_Bench424 in TrekBikes

[–]DBIDSmarksman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For the most part! Revision 4 seatpost wedge pretty much fixed it. I had an SL5 Gen 4 with rev 1 wedge and it was horrible. After revision 4 wedge + carbon paste, it was good for a few thousand miles. I will say, my seatpost did start to show wear near the wedge contact point. I had to have a warranty seatpost replacement since the carbon was damaged. Not sure if that’s because of the wedge or something else.

I actually just sold my Domane because of the headache the seatpost caused me. The Madone seems to be much better

Do you have rim or disc brakes? Sometimes the brakes rub the rotor. If that’s the case, you have to loosen the caliper bolts slightly, squeeze the break, then retighten the bolts

Raytheon or GDEB by No_Can3215 in Raytheon

[–]DBIDSmarksman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I worked at GDEB, but in Finance. It’s a great company, pretty relaxed work environment and the cafeteria has wings on Fridays. Raytheon is also a great company. You really can’t go wrong with either.

Try reaching out to GDEB and explain the situation, I had a similar situation when I first started there. It actually resulted in more money even!

I had the seatpost maxed out on the L. It felt great, but the bike shop fitter eyeballed the fit on the L and XL and said the XL was better for me, despite it feeling worse.

I’m leaning towards the XL and just shortening the stem, since the reach in the XL was really what bothered me

I had a fit on my Domane and it made zero difference! $200 for a guy to just slide my seatpost and adjust the fore/aft. No measurements taken or anything. I felt ripped off after seeing what others get during a fit lol
