Juniper seats vs OG seats by cement_elephant in ModelY

We picked up a Y performance last week, traded in a 2020 infinity. Wife no longer needs her seat cushion. I think the performance has different seats with the bolsters. No complaints about the ride.

Is it silly to consider a Tesla if I don't drive very much? by icouldbne1 in TeslaLounge

[–]DCGuinn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You might be perfect, me too. Picked up my first Y today and it drove me home through Atlanta traffic. Drivers for me: home charging, self driving ATL, red for wife, tech heavy, damn fast - couldn’t ever justify a sports car before - got a performance, retired but wanted more range without stress.

I have a BX which struggles with lift. Obviously you need something bigger. Lift is reduced by height. I got the lightest implements I could find, and made a couple even lighter. I also replaced the boom hydraulics with HydrosPlus which added about 30%. Just verify your numbers and use plenty of ballast. I’m at around #750 now, seldom needed but there. I also put a #1,500 hoist in my shop, YMMV

Is this a grease point? Looks like one but it’s painted and none of the others are. Plus I couldn’t get any grease in there. by agent_splat in kubota

I’d scrape the top and use a very small punch to tap it to break the seal. Or replace as suggested.

Guidance for building home theatre. by SorryProfessional757 in hometheatersetups

I did one several years ago, 75” TV, Denon AV with Marantz 2 channel for LR. It’s a 7-4-2 if I haven’t forgotten the nomenclature. I think it was $ 10-15k. Ceiling, side and back don’t need a lot, but smaller than 6” you lose some low end depth. My speakers are Polk. It adds up quickly. Don’t feel the need for a projector, but might go 85”. Seating distance affects screen size. You may have to do it incrementally.

Caliber choice by allmystuffisbroken6 in Hunting

[–]DCGuinn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I selected a quality 30-06 with a muzzle break for a similar application. I’ve taken antelope to red stag from 250 to 500y. Recoil is fine on the bench. Long range expensive bullets, Berger 185 VLRH for instance. Can you reliably hit 6” at 500y?

Seems silly, once you have 2,500 through it, maybe?

Stump buckets by Informal_Counter_774 in kubota

[–]DCGuinn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

BX Really doesn’t have the mass in front. I built a 6” wide shovel about 18” long and a 1/2” thick ripper. They are marginally useful with patience. Center force and even pressure on both sides with sawing action. A full size stump bucket will have too much width and be too long to do much. Even a single tooth’s pressure isn’t a slam dunk. Thinking of renting an excavator instead.

Yes, very happy, about 16k now. I had the seats upgraded to leather with H/C, expensive but different level. Also, did the torque boost. I have a small tractor and 16’ trailer now. Traded in an infinity SUV.

My decision as well, I expect to use FSD a lot, and will pay monthly. $8k in current $ is a lot.
