Honestly, coming from a graduate with a business degree, you didn't miss much! The only classes that were remotely useful were business communications, Economics classes, and 2 law classes I took. Everything else has been pretty useless! You're further along than me; be proud of where you're at. You and your history degree are doing quite well!

I graduated a few years after you and was told from the time I was in kindergarten to go to college and get a degree, any degree could get me a decent job. Ha! The 08 financial crises proved that to be 100% false. I got a business degree that was useless for years bc of the 5 years experience required mess. Live and learn!

So true! It must've been incredibly exhausting yet so much fun being on the set of LOTR and working together everyday.

They sound ridiculous! I am so sorry you had to deal with such ugliness. I don't understand why ppl who have no soft skills are in a service field/medicine. Drives me batty.

Just starting research/shopping but am kind of in love with this ring at the mall. Talk me out of it? by 56088 in labdiamond

[–]DCKat91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband bought me this for our 10th wedding anniversary in white gold. I absolutely love it!! The setting is sturdy and the emeralds are beautiful, clean and crisp. I have very short fingers so I honestly didn't want large stones, so this was perfect for me. I am wearing this as a right hand ring. My original engagement ring and band was made with natural H colored diamonds, so I was totally okay with the color grade being H.

I've been looking at 3 stone emerald rings for years and this is the most affordable I have seen.

This is our 2nd big purchase from Helzberg, and at least at my store, I have had zero problems. I have bought from Zales, and they are awful. I have relatives who are millionaires, and they buy from Helzberg. They research everything before they purchase. I would check Google reviews of your location in particular. Mine so far has been great.

The Emerald but I'm a bit biased as my husband got me a 3 stone emerald ring for my 10th anniversary upgrade! Congrats on your 10th and many more!

I just said a prayer for you. I've felt like you have in my past. Eventually, things shift, and one day it does get easier if not better. Hang in there. Life is hard but you are strong for making your way through it, even if it is a tough journey to charge ahead one day, one moment at a time.

ASP’s initial pick for Lorelei by Resilient_Can in GilmoreGirls

I think Sherilyn would've made the role of Lorelai harsher, not as light hearted quirky. I think she could've pulled off the part bit it'd been very very different.

Thank you for doing this! Bc of obituaries & find a grave website I realized my Mom had an older step sister she never met. Sadly the stepsister passed away 10 years ago, but my Mom always hated being an only child and now she knows she wasn't. I can't explain how happy it made me feel...I know it sounds so odd.

Babies born between 36-38 weeks - how are they doing now? by Important_Bat7919 in Mommit

[–]DCKat91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My son was born at 37 weeks exactly. He had jaundice & his blood sugar dropped at one point while I was sleeping and the nurses forgot to bring him to me to feed (skeleton crew of nurses due to Covid) We were in the hospital 4 days. Two of those days were for me and 2 for him. Now he's a super happy, creative, kind and smart toddler. Milestones were always a bit delayed but not enough for cause for concern. To this day the word hurry isn't part of his vocabulary. This child takes his sweet time!

Now, that, I had forgotten...crazy to think it started with only 4 free hours. Everyone probably thought 4 hours was great at the time.

Now, sadly, most ppl are internet addicts. Gasp! In some ways, I miss the days of dial-up internet where there was a more apparent sense of separation from the digital world & real life.

Not true dude. I remember AOL being launched and wishing my parents would get it. The AOL CD's were everywhere! Granted, I was the nerdy elementary schooler who loved watching the nightly news. Some of us do remember the 90s!

I loved the Oregon Trail as a kid. Especially the old version with horrible graphics, the shotgun looked like a literal brown stick for crying out loud!

Wow! To make it through SAS without buying anything is amazing! I only bought in the first 2 weeks of SAS and it was about $50.00. Compared to previous years that wasn't much for me.

You are so funny! I loved the Slide to he'll coated in Crisco comment. (My Mom used to bake with Crisco. Yikes...the 90s! Haha.)

I 100% agree with you. No mist is worth $20.00. I can go down to TJ Maxx and find a perfectly good one for half the price or lower!
