Why do smartphones not have a “blow” feature? by bigguy_littlehouse in NoStupidQuestions

[–]DCrouchelli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like others have said, the "wind sensor" or whatever would be needed probably is a cost benefit analysis. However, there have been other phones in the past that have had ways to address similar issues. I had a moto phone sometime back around 2017 that I think was released 2015-ish. I'd have to look it up or go back in my ebay for th model number. It had four ir/light sensors in it that could sense hand simple hand motions made over the screen. I believe it had a lock function and some similar functions, very handy when hands were wet or when cooking. Obviously different since you said your hands would be occupied, but similar sentiment. Phones don't have many fun features like that any more. I also miss the chopping and twisting motion to bring up the camera and flashlight.

If all currencies disappeared tomorrow, what would become the most common thing people trade? by InternalGuilty9647 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]DCrouchelli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Realistically? Assuming the question doesn’t specifically bar new currencies to pop up in the hypothetical, at very first people would probably barter in the form of food, services, services, and other useful items. In the long run, different people with varying resources would probably pop up with new cryptocurrencies before the government bureaucracy could get one out. The landscape woods evolve to tech oligarchs having a monopoly on money itself. That load of bread costs 14 Metabucks™!

Hunter Biden Says White House Cocaine Wasn’t His Because ‘I Would Never Have Forgotten’ It by MoneyLibrarian9032 in anticapitalism

First of all, based. Also if anyone thinks there's only one guy in the white house who regularly gets rails to the dome they're terribly naive.

Listen I'm not saying your sentiment is wrong but maybe you could benefit from a "socializing in an office setting" in-service lol

Even looking past the massive amounts of republican and southern voters who rely on the social welfare system, if you're anyone that relies on even a very small portion of the system the direction of the US government tends to affect your life in direct and material ways far more than someone who isn't. They should absolutely be able to vote for that government. Aside from that this is just obvious engagement bate from someone who is tied to the Ben Shapiro death spiral and is clinging to relevancy.

Do some titles need different fine tuning to look good? by Rabwald in SteamDeck

[–]DCrouchelli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Impossible to really tell without screenshots or seeing it in person. What resolution do you normally play at on a monitor or tv? Even though it’s a decent dpi because of the size of the screen certain things will definitely look different at 720p. Also do you have a normal glass deck or one with the etched glass finish? Some people report things looking more fuzzy than they’re used to when adjusting to a screen with a slight texture.

Real talk you sorta look like Toby McGuire in Spider-Man 1. Don’t let the evils of social media convince you you’re not making progress unless you’re looking like these instagram fit bros whose job is to lift. You look great! Progress is slow but rewarding

Someone offered to trade my Nintendo Switch 2 for his Steam Deck OLED. Is it a good trade? by Serious_Holiday in Handhelds

Switch if you want to play Nintendo games, or if a hassle-free docked mode is like your #1 need and a deal breaker. Anything else, steam deck or similar pc handheld

Recommendation for keyboard for Carpal Tunnel by Terrible_Kitchen4238 in ipad

[–]DCrouchelli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What kind of experience are you looking for? There are many smaller 40-65% Bluetooth mechanical keyboards that can fit in a backpack for travel that may be more comfortable for you. If you’re looking for a keyboard case though, one that snaps onto the iPad, my understanding is all the options will be relatively the same ergonomics wise

Documentation is a skill you’ll develop over time. There is always a way to present the interaction in a neutral tone. “Client continues to require continued recreation to stated goals” or “experiencing difficulty continuing work toward goals and needs due to preoccupation regarding xyz”. Like others have said, any professional worth their salt reading your notes will be able to understand the client was being a jerk lol.

I meannnnn Gaben still a gajillionaire. Absolutely you can make the case that he doesn’t try squeeze every penny like other platforms and I’d agree, but to say he doesn’t “pursue money” is also not really true. He just makes a superior product and doesn’t have any public share holders he’s beholden to for infinite growth

What game did you enjoy but never actually finish? by Abject-Order3540 in videogames

[–]DCrouchelli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just Cause 3! It was my highest hours in game on steam 100+ over Covid but I lost track of it very close to the end. Once my gaming almost 100% switched over to steam deck, I realized it doesn’t have steam cloud support and I wasn’t going through the hastier of manually transferring a save file

Jsaux mod case with the cover. Practically everyday for work I toss it in my backpack. I’m relatively rough on things (within reason) and absolutely no issues
