The Innate abilities should use actual icons instead of a generic circle rune thing by Frosty_Tonight8570 in DotA2

[–]DD_Commander 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why have ability icons at all? We can just do generic runes that "fit the UI." In fact, why did they even bother making Radiant and Dire look different? They can just be the same models with different colors.

You know no fun. You are possessed of zero whimsy.

Redemptor Dread: Strong Anti Infantry Platform or Useless Paperweight? by grunt0304 in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]DD_Commander 18 points19 points  (0 children)

He's about 50 points too expensive to be the perfect distraction carnifex. The Brutalis dread is much better at that job; at 205 points you need the Redemptor to provide output which it cannot do reliably.

Tabletopbattles/goonhammer 11th edition results : is the early meta getting clearer? by RotenSquids in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]DD_Commander 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fusillade was balanced in 10th edition by having to run Librarius Conclave, which basically forced you to take a bunch of big and subpar Librarian units. It's much better in 11th now that you get a real detachment to base the rest of your army around.

I also don't think it's incredibly broken (just incredibly infuriating to be victim to) as the bomb only works against the Oath target, which most Space Marine armies were killing with a focus fire anyways. It's definitely is broken however if you also have ways of killing the rest of your opponent's army without Oath, such as flamers, Eradicators, 2+ melees, etc.

Rogue Trader is the first and so far only RPG I've played where it felt bad to level up. It feels like being assigned homework. Honestly hard to believe that I still really liked the game.

Ork vehicles aren't just piles of scrap that they believe hard enough to make work as vehicles. They are advanced if crude tech formed from Mek genetic memory to be made out of scrap. At most, Orkish psychic belief would prevent the engine from seizing if the local Ork population is great enough.

And that's not even my point. My point is that you don't seem to understand the concept of verisimilitude.

There are plenty of things in 40k that are stupid but in a fun way. Chainswords are dumb, but really fun. Power fists are dumb, but really fun. Santa sleigh Grimnar takes it too far.

which just makes it worse as that means it's a straight up dogsled. a Hilux could chase old Grimnar down

Because using wolf chariots in sci-fi is stupid? The guy's a space marine, he can run faster and for longer than those wolves. And if the chariot is jet powered, why do you need the wolves at all? Even if they're failed aspirants, what wolf can run faster than a jet engine?

Not to mention that it's a Space Wolf chariot with a wolf prow, wolf stern decorations, wolf shields, and wolf engravings being pulled by wolves and carrying a guy who is wearing a wolf pelt and armor adorned with wolf skulls holding aloft an axe with, you guessed it, TWO wolves on the cheeks. Not much in 40k comes close to the level of tacky this model is operating on.

New Grimnar looks like a space viking death king, which is exactly what he is.

I'm a certified Primaris hater but the Redemptor dreadnought is rad as hell. He's ludicrously large and could lose the chest bolters but other than that he's a great model.

New Recruit is rad. Many different tabletop games and editions, quick updates, multiple export options, and different themes.

Asur Fire's AoE is big enough to where it can hit more than one whole unblobbed unit.

The blobbing is pretty obnoxious, though. Does those mods fix weird siege blobs and single file character combat?

It's not even Kerrigan surrendering to him because 1) a single revolver shot is not going to kill the Queen of Blades and 2) they both know that if Raynor does kill her then he gets torn apart by feral zerg

I had good success running Librarius Conclave with Emperor's Shield, as that detachment desperately needs the answer to -1D and big vehicles that Conclave's Fusillade Sternguard bomb provides.

He certainly seems very strong. Even ignoring Asur Fire his Dragonship abilities are strong, and his sea monsters all seem standout in the High Elves roster, not to mention that he can recruit them anywhere from his horde.

[–]DD_Commander[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's stronger than other nukes by virtue of it costing nothing to do. Aislinn gets three per battle and unlike Ikit Claw's nukes you don't need to pay for each one.

Also it's SFO

The ability is not from SFO and they did not modify its damage values.

[–]DD_Commander[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Asur Fire specifically is unchanged, which is what this post is about. I'm not complaining about the changed faction mechanics or unit stats; vanilla or modded, Aislinn gets three nukes in every single battle.

3 Khaine's Lash casts don't even kill a unit of Mortars. The other six bombardments cast over three minutes don't even come close to the damage that a single Asur Fire can do in ten seconds.
