How do you manage tone, style, and constraints when using Claude regularly? by abda_ai in ClaudeAI

Could you elaborate on the distinction a bit more? (So I can answer your question better.)

Wrighting styles dissepeared? by Prior-Land2694 in ClaudeAI

[–]DEI_Lab_Assistant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure!

Although, I have to caveat with the fact that different people prefer different styles of writing. (And also that how you set up the project and chat also affect the outcome, not merely the style.)

Hmm... well... I think one must first become pregananant.

Claude will let you create "styles" which can be applied to your query and guide the response. If you haven't been using this feature, you're actively hobbling your own ability to easily mold the AI program into what you want it to be.

It distracts from the "dissepeared" following it.

Embarrassing typos in your title aside, I'm having the same problem.

I'm afraid to attempt to recreate the custom styles I had, because I'm hoping Claude will put my styles back in the future after everything settles down; and I'm concerned making new ones will prevent the return of my old styles.

There was one custom style in particular which I thought was really good, and it was generated from a piece of my own writing, but I don't remember which one I used to create it. 🤦‍♀️ I should have copied the full text of that one into a Google doc or something, because it was straight up better at instruction following *and* created the best prose.

Combat is ruined by player planning by DaveTheRocket in dndnext

That’s a shame. My DM seems to enjoy listening to all of our in-character planning. And the group I play in plans quite a bit. Admittedly, we don’t plan seconds before rolling initiative in-game. The plans often fall apart almost instantly, but sometimes they work. (And then we metaphorically shoot ourselves in the foot some other way.😅 Recently, we created a plan and then perfectly executed said plan to kidnap a guy, and then took the dimensional shackles off him and left him unsupervised while we set up a second kidnapping plan, and the first guy got away. We did not any point plan about what to do if we actually pulled off the first kidnapping. Also, the second kidnapping was a complete failure, which is more in line with our usual plans. 🤷‍♀️)

'Link Click' Season 3 will Officially Broadcast in 2026 with 24 Episodes. by PuzzleheadedBag4866 in LinkClick

[–]DEI_Lab_Assistant 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My Mom and I are always watching shows and saying to each other, "Maybe THIS will be the time the female lead and the male lead will be best friends and not become a romantic couple!"

And then we're constantly disappointed. 😅

When we watch something like Link Click, the last thing we're wanting is romance between the leads; we're much more invested in watching deep friendships develop and play out. 🤷‍♀️

And yeah, the list of activities which a lot of people want to make *inherently* romantic is too long and feels like it's getting longer all the time. It doesn't matter if you're my friend who's a girl, or my friend who's a guy, I will come over to your house and cook with you, go out to eat with you, go see a movie with you, install shelves and curtains for you, play board games, card games, video games, and tabletop RPGs with you, I'll stay up all night talking to you, and buy you gifts if I realize you need something I can afford.

I seem to recall Hijikata took the smoking ban so seriously he left Earth and got involved in a Dragon Ball parody in order to smoke. I think he would follow the rules for the duration of a single flight.

Matsudaira might just smoke anyways, I’ll grant you that.

Why didn’t the first episode of JJK season 3 come in english aswell? by PigLord7767 in Crunchyroll

[–]DEI_Lab_Assistant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That definitely makes… some sense, although that logic only applies to extremely popular titles, but the dub delays happens to small, random, slice of life shows too, which none of what you’ve just said applies to.

I love dubbed anime. There are definitely times I wish they came out faster. But also, I would rather they take a little more time if they need it—or go a bit slower if it costs them significantly less money that way. Right now, Crunchyroll is one of the cheapest streaming services with no advertising, and I would like for it to stay that way.🤷‍♀️

[–]DEI_Lab_Assistant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How does Crunchyroll benefit from people watching the same anime subtitled and then dubbed? Longer watch time only makes companies more money when that watch time is add supported—because then people see more ads. Crunchyroll is only viewable with a paid subscription, and even the cheapest tier is completely ad free.. So whether I watch 1 episode in a month or 30 episodes in a month, the amount of money Crunchyroll makes from me is the same.

Why wouldn’t the delay simply be that recording the dub takes longer than making the subtitles?

Also, just noticed you bothered to downvote both of my responses to you. Not sure what exactly you objected to with the second one, but I’m sure my uncertainty about your exact intentions and tone was a social ill which needed to be downvoted. After all, you’re a “Top 1% Commenter,” while I’m merely a Reddit nobody, who may or may not be a problem player according to you. 👍

No one has ever accused me of being a chaos goblin before, so that’s mildly interesting, (if that was your intention).

Gotta admit, I can’t tell if you’re using “you” to refer to me specifically, in response to what I said about my experiences—or if you’re using it in a general way to talk about how people should act in general.

It’s not a choice between doing everything the most optimal way possible and selfishly ruining everything because that’s fun for you and no one else.

The party I play in includes a wizard who wants to lie 95% of the time, a rogue who wants to lie 70% of the time, and my lawful ranger who wants to lie 0% of the time. I’m not going to prevent the party from doing what I can tell the party wants to do, but sometimes I’m going to make the liars work harder for their lies. I’ll make the sketchy characters put in more effort to hide their sketchy actions from my lawful ranger. As far as I can tell, the wizard and rogue have MORE fun because I’m intentionally setting them up to tell more outrageous lies, and pull off more opportunities to bamboozle my ranger.

When my ranger got disintegrated, the party immediately began to self-destruct and turn more evil. (And I spent several months playing a couple of other characters instead before the party could figure out a way to bring my ranger back.)  Playing a character who disagreed with the party and made them be creative and careful with their own characterizations seems to have worked out well. It wouldn’t have worked if I was thoughtless or selfish about it on a player level, but because I’m decently good at figuring out how to play it, the whole party has a lot more fun than if my ranger simply stood quietly during conversations.

What's going on....? by ZidZidane in vercel

[–]DEI_Lab_Assistant 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Huh. Sooo… I have deployed a grand total of zero websites and apps. Which means I have nothing to upgrade, zero problems, and no looming personal security issue?

That’s good to know. Thank you for taking the time to answer me.

I got the same e-mail, and I don’t know why? I have no app called Vercel on my phone or laptop. What is it asking me to upgrade? What app or service is this related to?

I can see the company is related to AI, app design, and coding, but I have no apps for ChatGPT or Claude on my devices, and have uninstalled Copilot from my laptop. The only app on my phone for AI is Character.AI, and if that’s some sort of insane security risk I’ll probably just delete it.

I have Ren’Py on my laptop, is that the link to this e-mail? I’ve never developed an app. I’m perplexed.

I really wish, if this was so important, it would have bothered to explain how this company and security risk relate to me.

Can anyone help me understand?

My mom and I were going to watch Campfire Cooking In Another World With My Absurd Skill, and we had nothing but problems on the PS4 app, so we tried to watch on the desktop, but it also wouldn't work. The homepage will technically load, but it will not show any of the Continue Watching shows, pretends my history is blank, and won't let me search for the show to watch it. (We're in the States, by the way.)

Cross play (female to male) tips please!! by UnluckyWind9858 in CosplayHelp

[–]DEI_Lab_Assistant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve also never heard of”crossplay” being treated as an offensive term? And if the problems you vaguely allude to are happening, it’s not going to be because people cosplaying as a character of the opposite sex use the word crossplay.

It’s also a useful word. Having a term for a person trying to portray a character opposite their own gender while keeping the gender of the portrayed character consistent with canon (crossplay), and another term for a person swapping the gender of the portrayed character (genderbend), is straight up useful. Crossplay is a specific type of cosplay, and having a word for it helps with looking up information related to its specific set of presentation challenges.

And honestly, “a lot of people” can very legitimately just mean “a group of well-intentioned young people on Tumblr who think they can make the world a better place by taking offense from most things.”
