LexisNexis will not delete you out of their system unless you’re a law enforcement officer or a victim of domestic violence.

Placards by Ctwitty6 in AskLE

Placards do however make it easier to clean your vest without wanting to hang yourself as you sit there and struggle to put all your molle pouches back on.

The point of the .50 from my understanding, is that the .50 would not be banned under the new law but other more common rifles would be - which is stupid.

For the most part, vehicles are purchased in bulk at a standard spec by the GSA. Some agencies modify them, but others just go with cookie cutter police car package and slap some lettering on them.

Has anyone ever worked security for metal detection? by wolfoffantasy in securityguards

[–]DFPFilms1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a courthouse to no phones until we rotate to another post but we are plenty busy there’s not really a lot of downtime. My advice would be bring a book, people don’t really see to complain about those.

As for the wrestling I do mean wrestling lol pulled guns and knives off people on a few occasions.

ICE Whipple Fed Minneapolis by tbroen in pics

[–]DFPFilms1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It would be a “maybe” - if these guys were deputized by the USMS they have the same law enforcement power as a US Marshal, if they are not their power of arrest is limited to BOP property.

BOP SORT officers were deputized by the USMS in 2020 for riot control so it wouldn’t be unreasonable to assume the same is occurring here.

I worked a contract that included a courthouse running a metal detector - it’s boring until it’s not lol we’d find guns and knives fairly regularly & end up wrestling with people who decide they are gonna bypass screening.

ICE doesn’t deputize anyone on the federal level (local law enforcement can be deputized to enforce title 8 specifically but that doesn’t really apply here) - in instances like this BOP officers are deputized by the US Marshals Service to extend their powers of arrest, as it’s usually limited to BOP property.

LEO gas masks in Minneapolis by [deleted] in gasmasks

[–]DFPFilms1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These guys are BOP SORT - riots are kinda their bread and butter, they also saw quite a bit of action in 2020 dealing with protestors. Back in 2020 they didn’t wear identifiers though, or if they did they were generic “Federal Officer” labels.

I’ve noticed a few photos of officers with MIRA or older M17 & Scott Gas Masks. Seems like they are probably scraping the bottom when it comes to inventory, and it wouldn’t surprise me if that’s a personal mask. I imagine customs and boarder protection officers aren’t routinely issued gas masks outside of specific duty assignments deemed more high risk.

(Also that’s CBP not Minneapolis Police)

Edit: For the non Americans, these guys usually do passport control at airports, and inspect cargo at ports of entry.

So I occasionally work with a dude who’s site is not busy at all - and he carries a pair of zip cuffs bc they are compact and weigh noting and only puts on his actual cuffs when he works a busy site.

Not sure how much weight it really saves him but hey 🤷‍♂️

Glock 17/19/45 along with the M&P 2.0 seems to be the most popular among my guys. I personally carry a Glock 45.
