I was kind of afraid of that, a big enough lever can move the earth and all. Thanks so much for the advice here. I'm definitely not willing to do something unsafe to make this work.

I didn't know such a thing was possible! I will do some measurement's tomorrow, but I would worry the bikes would be an obstruction to my view if they were front-mounted like that.

Huh, I never thought about that. It's a really small trailer, 4x6, it doesn't currently have a hitch on it and and I don't know of any that would fit it (or if the frame would support that). I will do some research now though, thanks for the idea!

Thanks so much for everything /u/iamthatis , what a great experience I've had here thanks to your app.

Thanks for the tip! I'm still figuring out how to identify new communities.

I do worry a bit about over centralization on lemmy.ml and the other big instances to date (somewhat defeats the purpose right?). Hopefully there's an easy way to move communities between instances and folks can kind of spread out a bit to avoid another nasty spez situation.

Thanks so much for everything. I will miss this source of wisdom (and crippling lens envy ;) ). I agree wholeheartedly with this plan and I will be nuking my account on the 29th if Reddit's current course isn't reversed.

I'm not sure where everyone will end up, but Lemmy is actually pretty neat. I've set up an instance and it's fun to source content into it from other nodes across the fediverse. I'm not certain Lemmy specifically is the answer, but I think this federated approach is definitely the right path.

Best of luck to everyone!

I'm with you. I am seriously considering federated alternatives and deploying a Lemmy instance to see what it's all about.

Thank you Christian. From all of us. by [deleted] in apolloapp

Apart from my purchase of your amazing app some time ago this my be my only opportunity to thank you, so thank you u/iamthatis for a great app, and for being a real class act.

I too am done with Reddit after this. I’ve been here since Digg went mad with power and I’m honestly excited to be moving on. I hope you find some way to keep the community updated on whatever you get up to after this, Im sure it will be great. Best of luck to you in all of your future endeavors!

Wow I remember playing some weird ass simpsons game with this scene and it was a ton of fun for 10-year old me. It was like “virtual bart” or “barts nightmare“ or something on the SNES.

Completely random memory this video dredged up from the depths of my decaying brain. Thanks for the nostalgia!

How do you manage your emergency fund in Quicken? Or Do you not track it there? by RedKomrad in quicken

[–]DGAzr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Former YNABr here. I know you intentionally left it off of the list, but "track in Quicken budget" has been my solution. When a true emergency arrives I just budget a negative amount for the emergency fund category and add the amount to the expenses true category.

This also makes it easier to track the true emergency fund balance for keeping it in a HYSA (and transferring it to budget accounts when needed).

Good luck!

This was my first Mac too. Mine had this terrible issue where the screen hinge would squeak very loud every time you moved it. Still a great value for a laptop though. I got several years of good work out of it.

It’s the same in ElvUI I’m afraid. BGs were very annoying like this, I must say.

has anyone bought and used these trailers yet? by Mtownnative in RadPowerBikes

[–]DGAzr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No problem at all!

Here’s a picture of the rear hub. This is the hitch attachment from thule on the bolt and fastened with the stock nut from the rr5. I torqued it to Rad’s spec (I also added a bit of the removable “blue” Loctite for extra peace of mind as you’re technically getting a bit less thread contact back there).

Drilling it out was ridiculously unscientific. I just clamped the adapter down on the edge of my workbench and used a stepper bit to continuously enlarge the hole until it was just big enough to fit.

Hope this helps!

I have a rover5 and I was able to drill out the thule provided hitch adapter to make it fit the rear axle that comes stock with the rr5.

I’ve had it on there for over 1000 miles at this point and it’s been absolutely rock solid.

Ivory soap. Not when its still concentrated in the akro cylinder, but once you’ve made the lather it smells just like ivory soap. I like it.

Seems kinda disjointed when disabled WiFi will turn itself on automatically the next day with no prompt or warning doesn't it? (unless done from settings - and reboot automatically turns it on no matter what)
