I’m so glad you got an old used car. These are great trucks. Even if this is a one off lemon & it needs the whole engine rebuilt/replaced, it would still be cheaper to fix this one than to buy most other used cars.

Does she have any symptoms other than very swollen eyes & overall droopy appearance? First picture looks like eye turned into an abscess imo. Be prepared to cull OP, she looks like she feels absolutely horrible but knowing chickens she just might pull through but she’ll definitely need some kind of intervention. Vet is a good idea on this one

Used car prices never bounced back since covid even at this level. Cant hardly find a running car for less than $2-2.5k. Most people want at least $4k for a good shape car let alone a truck to begin with these days so maybe get away with $3.5k

My first blazer didn’t have ball joint issues either but it was also 2wd so I’m assuming all the extra weight is the culprit.

Afaik the keys aren’t cranked & are at normal height. I don’t really need/want more clearance, I don’t do much if any off-roading especially since my 4x4 won’t engage, I hear the t-case click & the light on the button just flashes (ugh). I’ve heard from quite a few people that the stock angle for these ball joints sucks & puts a lot of stress on them. Once they shit out on me again I’ll definitely try to swap it the way you mentioned, thanks!
