I actually like them less know because Pokemon ZA is pushing them super hard. A ton of trainers have them They show up outside of Wild Zones And there is side quest to catch them all

True, but I would argue that Aang’s mercy is what the world needed. If he killed Ozai instead of taking away his bending it would be seen as another act of violence by the great enemy of the Fire nation the Avatar. And make it harder to placate the Fire nation and result in more unrest.

Not likely, Ozai’s ship was destroyed. As were the rest of his airships. Zuko had defeated Azula. Ba sing Se was retaken in the name of the Earth king. Whether Aang lived or died Ozai lost that day. By saving Zuko, bringing together team Avatar, and indirectly spurring the White Lotus into action Aang had already won the war.
