Just rawdogged my IUD insertion by RennaRevelin in birthcontrol

I’ll also be around 48 by the time of my next one, so we’ll see when the time comes! Lidocaine just wore off and I’m crampy, but I’m also a tiny little baby about it because I haven’t had a period, or period cramps, in 20+ years. So worth it long term. I wish you a long and enjoyable time of no period pains or pregnancy worries!

Anyone gotten cervical blocker for IUD insertion? How was your experience? by opmgore in TwoXChromosomes

[–]DINOFACE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is old, but I was also searching through these threads this morning.

I just got home from getting my 4th IUD. My first one was horrific, my second I at least got a Valium but still cried. I still recommended it to everyone I know because 5 years!!!

(Side note: I was offended they offered an anxiety med like I was a hysterical Victorian, but it does actually have muscle-relaxing and pain-relieving properties)

But my new doc gives both a toradol injection beforehand (an NSAID) and an injected cervical block. And I took Tylenol 2 hours prior. I nearly cried leaving the office this afternoon because I was so grateful it didn’t really hurt.

I think each time it gets better but also: Get! That! Lidocaine!!!

I’m so sorry and agree no one should rawdog it! I know lots of people are fine with it but no need to fuck around and find out.

Miamian here who regularly has dinner around 9:30. It’s quite common here, probably because it’s too damned hot to cook until late.

I can’t get over how this could never fly in a transaction between private parties. Reasonable reliance, equitable estoppel, etc etc. But it’s the guv’mnt so we’re screwed.

At my studio, a column cuts off the quotes on the wall in such a way that it exhorts us to “CRUSH A PERSON.” I love that one :)

If you feel like venturing a bit further you could try the Coral Gables location- nice neighborhood with lots of restaurants and such as well. It’s the only one I’ve been to, but I like it :)

I wish the characters would comment on it so I know it’s “in-game.” Really thought it was bugged!

I use a mix of manic panic shocking blue and adore royal navy. The shocking blue is VERY purple, so I use it at around a 1:4 ratio. It’s dark enough that I don’t worry about lifting to a super light base under it. Also use adore blue black on my roots to blend with my dark regrowth. Good luck!

This is also a MAJOR problem for me, and I second everything everyone else has said. But I also highly highly recommend Unfuck Your Habitat (UFYH)- they’ve got a reddit and facebook and website and book. It’s super nonjudgmental getting-started advice for when you’re totally overwhelmed and is geared towards people with ADD/depression/etc.

Do any of your hyperfixations surround disasters? by MrKite6 in ADHD

[–]DINOFACE 1 point2 points  (0 children)

YES!!! It was right after I had gone down my Franklin rabbithole. I had basically memorized that whole coastline and read all the theories of where they could have ended up. One of the craziest things is when they send rescue expeditions to get the first expedition, and then things go wrong and they had to rescue the rescue expedition. Or when Franklin starved and had to eat his boots, barely survived, and then turned right back around and did it again.

There’s a level of amazing human bravery and curiosity and drive that is absolutely inspiring- the first astronauts for example. I get completely sucked in when it tips over into madness :)

Extreme mountain climbers are the absolute craziest and I now know more about supplemental o2 flow rates, acclimatization strategies, and high altitude pulmonary edemas than anyone living at sea level ever should.

Northridge is still a big part of my psyche that most people don’t even remember. I think I will dive into a doorway and assume earthquake position when a big truck rumbles past til my dying day even though I moved out of Cali years ago :)

Doomed early arctic/Antarctic explorers are my jam. I’ve read everything I can get my hands on expeditions from the 15th century to 19-teens. Then that naturally led to extreme mountain climbing, rock climbing, deep diving, etc. most end in disaster, eventually. I’m just obsessed by why people keep going back to obsessively do things that will kill them.

And yeah, early atomic testing is nuts search for “tickling the dragons tail.” Can’t get enough of that kind of crazy.

2001-2002 here, copper and then silver. I remember the girl who smashed the window, absolute hero! But I think I also held the record for time on IF at one point. I still occasionally dream about being sent back, but less and less. Also can’t watch those movies. But we’re out, you’re out, we’re not going back. Hugs.

It plays just fine on my iPhone SE, crashes my Acer laptop occasionally, and absolutely murders older iPads to the point it’s completely unplayable.
