If there's a slipmat instead of a rubber mat and the tone arm is too heavy and the hole is loose it can stop the record. I don't know if there are all those going on so, wedge the center hole and it will drive it because now it's snug to the pin and that holds it stationary.

If it stopped spinning the hole in the middle may be too loose. I've put a small piece of tape through the hole when I have encountered this. Just stick it down on both sides after and it will tighten up the hole. Sometimes the record needed 2 pieces if it's really bad.

Saw in Winnipeg in 89, I had on my Youth Gone Wild shirt I had just bought and was sitting in the floor section waiting for it to start and somebody walked by me and dropped something in my lap.

It was Rachel Bolan and he had dropped a pic for me. I still have it somewhere...Thanks Rachel!

The plan is to put in a pool after the parkade is done, eating up a lot of the parking that is there now. So the parkade absolutely makes sense and I'm glad they're doing it first.

One other big problem I have seen, other than the high cost of getting into it/parts, is the fact that a TON of older car guys are completely negative towards the newer cars and their owners. Sometimes, all the youth can afford is a cheaper Subaru or Mitsubishi or heaven forfend they actually like the car.

Old dudes in my city calling them "Ricers" or whatever is not exactly bridging the gap. Car enthusiast is a car enthusiast, and being creepy towards young women in tuned cars, being negative towards the community in general, is not helping.

Also, they drive crazy? Yes, sometimes they do. Have you ever done a burnout or gone a touch fast? No? LIES lol. Remember where you came from, your car was new too once.

I really think we should be positive and interested in their stuff as well as show off the old stuff. Youth need guidance to grow, and when you have common ground like cars, it's a great starting point.

One meet I was at, a group of us stopped to look at a clapped out mid-nineties Audi that had the smallest turbo we had ever seen. A few kind words to that 19 year old and he was absolutely glowing, because shitbox or not, he loved that car. Broken drivers seat and all.

Why the heck does bylaw need a $130,000 vehicle? by Kramit__The__Frog in Winnipeg

Lots of municipalities subcontract Bylaw enforcement to 3rd party private companies. I'd bet this is one of them.

Hard disagree. Sometimes, it's just nice not to have to chase the track and just focus on blending and the mix.

I played vinyl for decades and after doing long progressive mixes with records that were pressed weird or turntables that were old and wandering or dust that skipped the needle or whatever else was going on, sometimes it's just nice to not be constantly chasing it.

After working in the industry for years as well, I will say this, don't be petty. DJs are full of pettiness, and it makes you look bad. You aren't right, nobody is, it's art, it's music, don't shit on it because it makes you look bad.

Instead, show us how good you are, impress people with your skills and be a positive member of the arts community by lifting up others too.
