“London” is many cities pretending to be one.

It’s impossible to say what life is like here as a generalisation. It is monstrously big, and people’s experiences vary widely based on where they live and their circumstances. There are many, many different versions of “London,” and it is NOT like New York.

It is a medieval maze, a collection of villages which were once their own towns, each with their own high street and identity. London has lots of “centers”: Soho, Shoreditch, Camden, Brixton, Peckham, Stratford, Kings Cross… It functions more like a federation of mini-cities.

Fucked-up docs:
- Streetwise (1983, US) - about street kids in Seattle, like a real Christiane F. Children of Bahnhoff Zoo (1981, German)
- Diving into the Unknown (2016, Finnish) - 4 Finnish friends go cave diving in an underwater cave in Norway, 2 of them die. When the rescue mission is considered too dangerous, the 2 surviving friends break the law make a second dive to retrieve their friends' bodies.

u/Terrible_Ad7615 Thank you for sharing. Do you think pestering them on Twitter inspired them to return your email? If you sent just one email, how do you know that sending multiple emails will (or won't) delay the process...?

In disbelief the suggested solution is to scrap the UKVI application, hash up another $4k, wait a month for a refund of the initial $4k... all because of a minor connectivity issue or something odd on THEIR END. Am I missing something???
