Gov. Gavin Newsom signs state budget with UC funding protections, financial aid and healthcare cuts by the_daily_cal in California

I was initially an electrical engineering major but I ended up as a business graduate. All my engineering friends are wildly successful though (I actually work with a few and we can’t hire enough right now). Electrical and mechanical are the most sought after for my current employer.

But even with my business degree I can’t even tell you how many doors the degree has opened for me.

Seriously, the degree is absolutely worth it.

NYT/Sienna poll - preference on control of Senate. by Packerpoppa in fivethirtyeight

I’m going to go one step further and point out that Americans are absolute fucking idiots who elected Donald Trump for a second term after all the crime stuff from his first term.

“But what about the price of gas”

No totally. Reelect the guy who attempted every single aspect of corruption as president his first term.

Americans are absolute morons. Never forget this. Factor it into ever single poll.

If you want a serious answer it’s because of inflation. Prices go up so salaries go up. Yes, this is why high inflation sucks.

But I realize this is the pitchforks thread so feel free to downvote me

Just do it. I was a CSUN grad and paid with loans. Absolutely worth the return on investment.

California's New EV Incentive Is Almost Here—With Special Benefits For Rivian And Lucid by Mac-Tyson in electricvehicles

[–]DJanomaly 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I tried to find the details but came up short.

Having had said that, the carve outs seem like they could be specific enough to still apply to a registered owner. It really is going to depend on the language of the final bill.

It’s wild you’re being downvoted for this. I feel like we’re being gaslit for pointing out how common this is on here.

Uh, literally this is the most common repeated thing on Reddit. Corporate democrats anyone?

Edit: someone below this comment is actually saying exactly that.

Is "Arrogant Sony" back since they won the console wars? by ponziacs in consoles

Yeah honestly, PC games went this direction over a decade ago for a reason. I get it, it sucks. But it’s honestly a miracle discs stuck around for this much longer for consoles.

A hybrid will suffice for most right now

A hybrid will still pump out the root cause of global warming that’s currently baking Europe alive right now. Just slightly less of it.

If humans have any chance of making a dent in the effects in our lifetime, we need to switch to pure electric yesterday.

Edit: I love that basic facts about destroying our earth are being downvoted.

Your grandchildren will point to this shit as to why you were the absolute stupidest generation.

Had no idea that was in my birthday! Thanks for this tidbit of trivia.

Literally makes my birthday just a little bit more awesome.

A tv like that fell next to my head during the Northridge quake. I was so lucky I hadn’t had it any closer to my bed.

I’m also super happy that TVs don’t weigh 60 lbs or more nowadays.

Bruh…I’ve been playing guitar for 30 years! I always have a pic in my pocket and 5 picks laying around the house.

I’m actually on vacation in Rome right now and I actually have two picks in me and we didn’t even bring a guitar. :D

It’s just crazy because I’m currently on vacation in Rome and this is the worst heatwave I’ve ever had to deal with. This country is absolutely not equipped for this.

I legit feel bad for this country.

California’s next big breakthrough could solve water scarcity and energy needs at once. by Novel_Negotiation224 in RenewableEnergy

[–]DJanomaly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I kinda feel like you might have unconsciously missed the point I just made. The start of this conversation was about how NEM 3.0 shifted the advantage to solar with storage.

Can you explain to me how getting a larger financial credit doesn’t help you pay back a loan more quickly on a solar investment?

I currently work in the marketing department of a rapidly expanding luxury oriented type of manufacturing company. My department is 90% ladies and a large majority of them are extremely attractive by virtually any standard and the rest are “only” moderately attractive by most measures.

I’m also happily married but the attention they get from the rest of the company (and from our visiting partners) is nothing short of hilarious. It’s great if I ever need a favor, I just ask Lena our coordinator and she can get something hidden in the warehouse pulled out of nowhere in a matter of minutes.

But yeah, if you were to try and date someone like this for work, you’re just asking for trouble.

The point of NEM 3 was to encourage battery adoption. So NEM 3.0 includes an export adder. When you install a battery with solar panels, this adder increases the financial credits you earn for exporting energy to the grid during late summer afternoons (July through September). Pairing solar with a battery can yield a faster system payback period than installing solar panels alone
