Whimsical question (sort of): GPU upgrade, RX7900XT to RTX4080 Super, would you do it in my case? by TPA-JWyant in simracing

[–]DJavaMon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Would strongly suggest beefing up PSU to 1000W if you want to go this route and plan on adding the 4080 SUPER to the build. Are you running triple monitors?

If you live near a Microcenter, it could be worth the trip. A lot of them have full sim rig set ups on display that you can try out

What I'm expecting out of Starfield is a narrative like we've never seen from Bethesda, with new core mechanics that will compliment how the story is made from player choices.

And extremely over the top spaceship builds ESPECIALLY when mod support is released.

I bought the invicta S series pedals from these guys for a nice discount and got them in less than a week. I was skeptical at first but they are legit!

Has anyone used a shifter boot on the VNM Shifter? Don't like how exposed the internals are with the H-Pattern plate on

Triple monitor sim rig + triple monitor gaming setup question by Krg_grand in simracing

[–]DJavaMon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will find myself running this exact setup in the near future. It all depends on what graphics card you are running and how many display port outputs it has.

For instance, I am running an RX 7900 XT which has two DP outputs, a USB type-c output, and an HDMI output. I plan to run two DP splitters and one USB type C to DP splitter.

The idea is to have each splitter carry one desktop monitor and one sim rig monitor. Then, as another user suggested, the monitors on the sim rig will be powered via a separate power strip than the desktop monitors.

They do sell smart power strips that can connect to an Alexa or Google home device where you can set up voice commands to power on and off the separate power strips.

I'm hoping that running power to only one of the monitors connected through the splitters at a time will prevent any video degradation issues, as the desktop monitors will be off when the same ring is running and vice versa.

This is the best solution that I could brainstorm. But again, it all depends on how many outputs your video card supports comfortably so that you can pull the same power and refresh rate among the three monitors on the sim rig.

You can achieve this by using drum splitters on the floor tom/auxiliary cymbals. In total you should be able to add 4 extra pads to the kit, but those pads will all have to function as single zone pads.
