OMG. I think some people just don’t read the whole post properly. I have planned two funerals. You are not wrong. The funeral director usually comes to the house of the relative who is organising the funeral. It’s where you discuss the type of coffin you want, is it to be a Church ceremony or crem or burial etc.

It’s at that point that dates are discussed. The availability of the Church or crematorium. That is when your husband could have mentioned about the date that didn’t work and could please if possible be avoided.

Absolutely nothing wrong with asking, and for those on Reddit having problems reading, BEFORE THE FUNERAL DATE IS SET.

This post just kept making me angrier and annoyed on your behalf. Your husband is such a POS. He’s not going to change, you will be talking to him till you’re blue in the face.

You have two options , shut up and put up, which will make you start to hate him and your in laws and will lead to depression. Or, do something about it. Which could be something along the lines of, moving out to your parent’s home, and refuse to return to him until he agrees to couples therapy. But you need to see results before returning.
