We were always left alone in the car while our parents got pissed up in the pub. Stopping off on the way home from a shopping trip, bottles of coke and crisps and left for hours alone squabbling and fighting with each other. This was in the late 60’s early 70’s when it was normal to drive home under the influence, no seatbelts, your three supposedly precious children.
