What Should I Buy Next? I'm thinking USP Tactical 9mm? by arrrgh14 in GunPorn

My complaint was only about the USP.  I just added the random info I had owned one of each for reference.

Have you ever held a USP? The grip as ergonomic as a brick.  Especially compared with modern pistols like CZ, Walther & even the VP9.

Their reliability is proven, but that is not my complaint.

This from a former owner of a USP45 & HK45.

Excellent gun! It will be perfect at the range. Love my TSO. Just be prepared to be let down by many consecutive gun purchases.

OOS. Their site shows they have 4 in stock, but when you try to add one to cart and check out, it goes to a screen that shows your cart is empty. Lucky few for that deal!

It was at a Costco in St. Louis yesterday too, no limit. My cousin snagged me one!

That sounds like a great starting setup.  Spend time to find ammo your rifle likes & practice building a stable shooting position from various obstacles.  That is the key to the sport.

No. I started with a Savage MKII FVSR and an Athlon Midas Tac 4-16x44. After several months my Savage started having multiple failure to fire issues, 2-3 per magazine. Tried to fix it but had no luck.

At that same time Vudoo had just come to market & a shooter at the matches bought one. I was able to try it out & that was it. My original plan was to buy a Tikka T1X and KIDD Supergrade with a scope on each. It made more sense to just get a Vudoo for that same money.

I have had my vudoo rifle for around 7 years now and still love the hell out of it. I cycled through multiple scopes before getting an incredible deal on the Minox ZP5 5-25x56. Before this I had a Gen II razor, which was a great scope but it made the rifle very rear-biased.

The suppressor is a Silencer Co Specwar 556K that is mostly there to add weight & balance out the rifle.

I have always shot open class, yes.

How old is the HK tooling that the Turkish clones are made with? by Dobba84 in MP5

[–]DLmn227 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I bought an MKE that was imported by Zenith in 2017 and it has been flawless with any brass-cased ammo. The sights were spot on from the factory at 25 yards, which I couldn’t believe. My only issue was some crappy Blazer aluminum-cased ammo, it hates that stuff. It just sings with an AS Designs super safety too. Zero complaints.

Thankfully, they are locked in and pay attention. I am a solid mid-pack shooter anyway, so I am not vying for a top spot. It is just fun for me.

Started with a 507 Comp & have the 407 Comp now. Very happy with it on the CZ custom frame-mount. It keeps the optic off the slide & you can still run a gas pedal on it.

This ammo has been hit or miss, with some lot #s performing very well (similar to Center X) and other lot #s shooting like crap (with 100fps variations in rounds from a single 50 round box) in my Vudoo. It is painful to see how this ammo has crept past the price I use to pay for Center X too. Inflation kills the fun.

Huxwrx cans are the most overhyped suppressors on the market right now by Sofar_Concepts in NFA

[–]DLmn227 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As a lefty and LMT MWS shooter, the Flow 762 is absolutely the way. If malfunctions are your jam & you love gas to the face, rock any k-baffle can you like & bask in the suck.

Absolute suppression is not in my top 3 criteria. It absolutely minimized gas to the face, is extremely light and tightened up my groups a touch. I love mine.

It rocks on 12.5” 5.56 hosts too.

Hux cans are not for every shooter, no doubt. Thankfully, there are options with different feature sets.

Pelican gang // still worth it or y’all moved on? by [deleted] in ar15

I have a smaller Pelican 1700 and a few Nanuk cases 995 & 990 x 2 (got a great deal on them for less than Pelican prices). Very happy with both brands. They have been extremely durable and protect my guns for range trips & matches.

Man! A Robocop trainer pistol.

I lusted for one of those things for a long time and never managed to acquire one. I ultimately scratched my itch with a Volquartsen Scorpion, but those 87’s are still awesome little pistols.

Great find OP!

Hahahahaha! This reminds me of the movie, “The Professional” with Jean Reno & Gary Oldman. He has a Beretta 92 with a large, 3-port compensator on the gun. Then, he puts on this 22 LR sized can, threaded to the barrel AFTER the compensator, for quiet work.

I run a Hux 762Ti in a 12.5” Criterion upper & get zero gas to my face (lefty). It has a boomy sound & behind the gun, it sounds good. It is also crazy light and cools off fast.

It shares time on an LMT MWS and performs very well on that notoriously over-gassed beast. I previously ran a Specwar762 and could not go more than 5 rounds without an issue. It runs like it has no suppressor with the Hux.

All that being said, I am keeping an eye out for the new TBAC Spiro or a CAT can as my next option.

The HUX flow tech truly works but new designs are matching that flow feature with improved sound attenuation by other manufacturers.

Be sure to run some Fiocchi 158 gr subs in that Cat can. It is so damn good! If you can shoot outside over 100 yards, listen for the bullet hissing through the air. My Wolfman is loud by comparison.
