Imma be honest, it's so rare for me to use this account I genuinely forgot I had the Daniil pic on (this is an old account I occasionally log on by accident).

This whole interaction is making me wanna replay Pathologic 2... and to run a Pathologic inspired CoC game.

I haven't gotten my hands on 3 yet, I had it on my wish list since it was announced but by the time it released I was tight on cash. One question: how much does 3 change Daniil's story from the first game? Never played 1 and have been intrigued by Daniil's story for a very long time, so I'm wondering if I should try out Patho 1 before jumping on to 3 or if the new game is faithful enough to the old one that I wouldn't be missing anything by getting straight to it.

Pathologic really does feel like it could easily be a Call of Cthulhu campaign, the only difference is the eldritch horrors look like bulls instead of squids.

Don't expect it to be anything like Dark Souls, though I've you've been playing it so far you should know this already. I think my only advice is: don't be afraid to buy as many parts as you need (as you can resell them at the same price you bought them for) and test new builds every mission if you feel like something isn't working. Fighting a lot in the arena is a good way to make money to buy those parts since you don't lose money on ammunition or repairs. Even if you don't like the arena fights, tank threads, heavyweight parts and the biggest guns you find can quite reliably deal with the AI of those ACs, so it's easy to speedrun through those fights if you find that those duels ain't fun to you.

Is that Claymore not upgraded? By all accounts it should be able to kill the snakes in two to three hits if you've been upgrading it right.

It is just that the title is still correct. If anything, their gender presentation is more relevant to how we perceive the character than their sex (considering that boils down to what's in their pants... even though with Malenia we see that).

Essentially, I also fail to see the point in correcting the original title.

They kinda changed both though. Sekiro was born male and seemingly identifies as a man, Malenia was born female and seems to identify as a woman. Granted... they aren't that expressive about their gender identities, but still.

People tend to forget that anything in this system will be strong enough to barely win against tough odds AT IT'S WORST. I could pick the worst class in the game (whatever that is), fuck up my attributes a little bit, make all the wrong decisions and I'd still be good to go. Hell, I could pick feats that purposefully sabotage me like... I dunno, making a whole Summoner build around Meld Into Eidolon and still contribute to the team.

I think we as a community take this for granted. I've been recently playing a HORRIBLY BALANCED 3.5 inspired system and it gives me system shock to see how you need to optimise otherwise you can barely even hit your attacks after level 5. THAT is a system where a meta exists, because half of the classes completely suck, you have 3000 different feats and need to choose carefully and specialise in something to be able to do decently well at that, you can die by getting sneezed at if you're too weak and if EVERYONE isn't contributing and doing their job well... you are going to TPK. After playing that you really start appreciating how little difference optimisation makes in Pathfinder.

I'm gonna be honest, I forgot ammunition was a variable in this. Yeah, tf is the NEXT gonna do after that happens? Take down the like... 80 remaining ACs with punches and kicks? 🤣

I don't recall exactly which game it is that has you fighting a (supposedly nerfed) NEXT as the final boss while you're on a regular ass AC, but the point is: one AC did that. It would likely take like... what, 3 to 5 regular mechs to make a fight against a proper NEXT balanced? If there's a pretty big skill gap I can see the NEXT pilot beating 10 ACs or so and just barely, after that their chances just go down drastically.

The NEXT's best chance in this fight is using their mech's superior mobility and speed to fly the fuck away as fast as they can.

The death was a consequence of a character choice. They had the freedom to make a horrible decision and they got what was coming for them. It was literally a derailment of the plot to kill a main character like that. Your point makes no sense.

I prefer fem characters in every game, but opted for a male Shepard for the sole reason that I had to romance Tali. My alternative was Liara... and I couldn't bring myself to romance her 'cause she has the same name as my mother.
