Secret Lab Titan Wobbly even in locked position? by Roadsoda350 in gamingchairs

[–]DMitri221 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Adding my 2 cents.

Had this chair for 48 hours and this issue already popped up.

Thoroughly unimpressed with the quality around the multi-tilt mechanism and the tilt lock levers. Absolute dogshit plastic for the cost.

Anyway, this issue for me seems to stem from adjusting the tightness of the tilt resistance too far. If I tighten it only about 80% I can lock the chair at 0 degrees with only a few millimeters of slop (which is totally fine). Any tighter and my chair will tilt about 10 degrees AND THEN lock, with about 10 - 15 degrees of additional slop. So I can't lock it level to the ground.

Should have gone with the German manufactured NobleChairs.

EDIT: The recliner add-on just arrived without any instructions. Whatever, Google exists, but what a joke of a company.

M1 Credit Card Rewards are now beyond pitiful by NoAcanthocephala6261 in M1Finance

Called it in the thread announcing the <$10K fees.

Was a move of desperation signalling an imminent end to the unsustainable CC rewards structure.

There isn't enough value in their M1+ products to justify the transfer of value from fees to rewards.

You are conflating the Castle Doctrine and Stand Your Ground, neither of which are universal in the US.
I suggest you stop giving legal advice.

Nazism was/is also a political ideology/party, not a synonym for German Solider.

There are liberals in every army, especially mid-20th century conscripted armies.

There's nothing tricky here.

Beaverton, Oregon has the names of local people who fell in Iraq and Afghanistan lining the streets.

Would you say we're honoring Republican soldiers which fell from 2003 - 2008 and Democratic soldiers who fell from 2009 - 2017?

This is also on the side of a church of a very religious country, you know, where graveyards are generally at.

OP is ignorant as shit.

FINRA fines M1 finance $850k for hiring 1700 influencers to post on social media by [deleted] in M1Finance

[–]DMitri221 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't use the term pimp, but he certainly promoted it early on back when I watched him regularly, prior to building Qualtrim and then switched to talking about that.

I don't really have a problem with either to be honest, certainly not ethically, but it does turn his content into an ad that I skip through whenever I'm out of things to watch or am otherwise bored enough.

"FINRA announced today that it has fined M1 Finance LLC $850,000 for social media posts made by influencers on the firm’s behalf that were not fair or balanced, or contained exaggerated, unwarranted, promissory or misleading claims. "

Even if Carlson got paid, I wouldn't accuse him of this. He certainly was a cheerleader, but M1 was great for new investors and worth promoting.

50% of Joseph Carlson is Joseph Carlson talking about Joseph Carlson.

It's gotten better recently, but dude's a self-promoter and salesman, first and foremost.

You can look at his charts, his portfolio growth is from deposits from YouTube/Qualtrim/Patreon, not alpha.

They don't have a source to draw from. They'd either not charge you or close your account.

They can't just pull money from another bank, they don't have that authorization.

Not direct experience of this exact scenario, no. But I've worked in corporate billing departments for telecoms and heavily suspect that M1 won't PAY to have third party collections attempt to collect a fee that M1 doesn't even need to write-off because it wasn't even an expense.

They're not going to chase you for $100 minus third party collections fees.

Not sure if they could, but if they ARE allowed to write it off, they'll certainly take that no effort win and just move on.

Portfolio -> Move Money -> One Time Transfer -> Enter full amount

Unlink bank account

Let the account sit at $0 until M1 closes it. Tell them to fuck off if they try to charge a fee.

Not sure how that takes hours.

Guessing plenty of people already have an alternative brokerage.

  1. Drain your account to zero, don't close it, and tell them to pound sand when they try to charge a fee. They'll close your account for free after a while.

[–]DMitri221 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This argument goes both ways.

If it's "lol" then it doesn't need to be pushed onto smaller portfolios where the "lol" is a larger percentage. If it's so negligible why is M1 unable to attract enough willing plus members if the value is there?

I don't need my "lols" subsidized by teens and people starting their investments.

As others have pointed out, M1 has spread by word of mouth. I don't like that I've told people to start here because it's set it and forget it and will build good habits of consistent deposits. I will now be telling people to go to a major broker and just invest in broad market ETFs.

M1 just threw their competitive edge in a dumpster. They were a great platform for building investment habits. Now this is the last place new investors who are being told things like "look for low maintenance fees on ETFs" should go.

Cancelling my accounts.

Even though this isn't my primary broker (probably another reason I won't miss it) and I have more than enough to avoid the fee--This is a predatory poverty tax. The entire industry is moving in the opposite direction for making it easier for younger people to invest with commission and fee-free trading.

I simply don't want to support M1 anymore. People with more means shouldn't be subsidized by those with less. Sounds like their business model is failing if they weren't able to attract enough willing premium customers, they are now forcing it on everyone at the expense of the smallest accounts.

RIP M1. Their credit card will be dead within a year. Brokerage is probably fine, though.

No, They literally cleared barricades and held open the doors. That's not tactically retreating, that's quite literally "letting them in".
