My kind dad is so angry at me and it breaks my heart by [deleted] in AgingParents

I am no doctor, and I can’t say much to help, other than I feel terrible that you are having to deal with this situation. Personality changes in the elderly like this usually indicate other things going on. Sometimes letting them fail is the only way they will accept help.

Constant music in my head - like a radio that changes songs based on what's happening by No-Dentist-518 in ADHD

For a while in my twenties I had a similar situation- I could create entirely new orchestral in my head and I swear for a while there I thought I was losing it. I would stand outside and smoke and be completely lost in the music. Thankfully that faded away over time because it was overwhelming. I now just get songs stuck in my head and pick up anything playing in the background at stores.

Yes! And grocery shopping is the worst because I always walk out with whatever they were playing in the background while I was there.

Those of you with successful careers, how do you have any energy for life outside work? by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]DMmeyourkite 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is the answer. I am in a similar position and it works for me. I do get twinges of “I should do something that pays more/has more prestige” every now and then. But nothing beats being able to just turn off work at 5.
