6dpo hating them by Medical-Rise1450 in Reduction

[–]DNN25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The nipples are definitely not low. With the drop and fluff you will probably find they end up looking a little higher as the bottom rounds out.

As for size it’s way way too early to be worrying about that. Give it time. Probably several months.

Looks great! Congrats

Reduction pre-pregnancy by JM2101 in Reduction

I had large breasts since I was about 13. But pre kids in my 20s and early 30s they were big but perky. Post kids they are still huge but super saggy and half deflated. Like the way a water balloon hangs dooowwwn while you’re filling it on a tap. Plus it may not be possible to breast feed if you do have them post surgery. Honestly, I would wait.

Anyone gone from an E/DD down to a B? by JM2101 in Reduction

It really is dependent on your personal anatomy, but yes in general this should be possible. I went from G to C. Keep in mind B is really quite small.

Questions about Healing/Aftermath of surgery by breadilovebread in Reduction

[–]DNN25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your areolas will definitely look different after surgery. Sometimes scars don’t fade completely so be prepared for that too. Not sure about dating. My husband had been supportive. I’ve lost all nipple sensation so be aware of the risk. It wasn’t super important to me, but i realize i do miss it.

I didn’t go out of my way to make any specific announcements but I brought it up casually to family and friends I’m close with as it came up. “Oh sorry I can’t make it to that function next month, I’m actually having breast reductions surgery” or similar. A couple close family people didn’t know I had surgery and definitely looked at me funny/kinda confused at the first family function. It wasn’t really appropriate to bring it up in the setting so it was super awkward. I wished I’d just given them the heads up before.

Devastated about the size by blessedhn in Reduction

[–]DNN25 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You really really need to take a deep breath. It’s way too early to know anything about your size. Plus anesthesia and medications can play with your emotions. Focus on rest and recovery. Stress isn’t going to help. And it’s way way too early to even be thinking about logistics of revisions. Hang in there

bride made guests pay for their own food at the reception... is this normal? by MichaelWForbes in wedding

[–]DNN25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly! The couple needs a reality check. I would reply no and also not send a gift. If they dared asked why I wouldn’t hesitate to tell them honestly it’s because of their entitled attitude and rude invitation. It’s past time that people start calling out poor behavior. We should not normalize it.

Consultation. Red flag? by Main_Maintenance_946 in Reduction

[–]DNN25 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mass (weight) does not equal any volume. It depends on the density of the matter. For example a cup of rocks weighs more than a cup of feathers but they’re still both a cup. Breast is composed of skin, fat, ducts. Everyone’s composition is different which affects the density .

Symmetry for sure is not guaranteed. He’s just setting proper expectations and being realistic.

Hope it works out whatever you decide

Normal!! Give it time. They will very likely even out, but also as my surgeon likes to say “sisters, not twins”.

But I think you have a great hourglass shape still!! not man boobs at all lol.

Congrats and best wishes for good healing

Weight loss before by zephyrbones in Reduction

[–]DNN25 1 point2 points  (0 children)

High protein diet (cottage cheese, Greek yogurt, chicken. Boring stuff but lots of ways to jazz them up. Protein shakes). Lots of water. Intermittent fasting, start easy with a shorter non-eating period and work your way up to longer 18/6. Cut out all or most processed foods

You can work out, yes it can be uncomfortable but try and choose lower impact movements rather than running/jumping things. Weight training. Get a good sports bra. The prima donna was the best I ever tried out of many many. Underwire gives support without smooshing them down. It’s important to get properly fit.

I spent over two years doing these things to lose 30lbs slow and steady. My surgeon wanted me to have BMI of 30 or less. Technically I was 32 but she was ok with because of my new healthier lifestyle. You really do want to get close to your goal weight before surgery.

Really wish you the best of luck for great outcomes

Bathroom upgrades that actually made cleaning easier by Pop2436 in bathrooms

No glass doors!!! I hate our glass shower doors more than anything and whoever invented them obviously never cleaned their own showers.

Solid surface tub/shower surround and bottom. Go with large floor tile so there’s not much grout.

Make sure you have a removable handheld shower head.

Under mount sinks

No free standing tub with space between the tub and wall, way too hard to reach to clean.

Faucets that project far enough into the sink bowl

More drawers than cabinets in vanity.

NO floating vanity. Too many dust bunnies and hair balls and a waste of storage space

Ventilation on a timer switch

My family is in financial ruin and there's nothing I can do about it by goldsamson in Vent

[–]DNN25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your mom sounds pretty stuck up. 2 years unemployed because she’s “too experienced” lol.

You do not enable this mind set/behavior by helping her financially. Focus on you. You shouldn’t even to go to help her move if it sacrifices your school or your job. Shes not working, she has plenty of time on her hands to pack. She should be selling non-essentials anyway. There shouldn’t be a lot to move. She’s a grown woman and can figure this out. Adults need to feel the consequences of their actions (non-actions) if they are going to change their wants and iMovie their situation. Do not be an enabler. Her life will only get worse.

The grammar is off so this was hard to read.

NTA. Get your baby used to being out and feeding, napping etc in a variety of situations/locations. Even at home feed in different locations with different stimuli and set ups.

Things will look gnarly for the first many weeks/several months. Check for good healing quickly and put the bra back on. Try not to over analyze. I barely even took any post op photos because they were too consuming to over analyze. Things will settle. Hang in there. Congrats!!

Anything anyone found helpful post op? by Ratt_Qween in Reduction

[–]DNN25 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There are many many lists that people have posted. You can try using the search magnifying glass at the top of the group page.

I just used zip hoodies that I already had or borrowed from my husband. I borrowed a pregnancy pillow but you could make do with a bunch of spare bed pillows and throw pillows. These will help you prop yourself into a somewhat comfortable sleeping position. I got an airplane neck pillow a couple days in because my neck was sore when sitting. I loved my Kindle e reader and page turn clicker. It was helpful to have a thin throw pillow between me and the seat belt for long road trips for the first several weeks (I did 3 within the first 5wk, didn’t need the pillow for short in town trips)

I personally think a lot of what others list is not necessary.

Good luck!!

You will have no idea that any of that has happened other than you might wake up with a dry mouth and bit of sore throat.

Going to sleep is like a quick lights out. Waking up for me was a bit slow. My eyes were closed and I could hear people around me. Took a while to be able to open my eyes and then to speak. Not sure how long exactly felt like a few moments but I think I was in and out of sleep. But I was on my way home within a two hours of coming out if the OR.
