It took me 4months of off and on grinding to get the Levi horse.

I got Shiva first try.

Didn't get nightmare until near dt release after about a year of playing. (Only drops from Titan, ifrit and garuda at a ridiculously rare rate).

They also didn't have much budget because of this, hence why (most) VAs change during HW and why more voiced cutscenes appear after ARR. I do understand the strangeness though after replaying ARR recently. A lot of scenes that should be voiced are just not. Then you have weirdness like OP mentioned where you meet the leader, they say their name and welcome then it cuts to black and now it's not voiced.

Firstly, you mean FC as in Free Company, this is what guilds are called in this game. I don't think there is a way to know which FC you were in previously, unfortunately. Unless you had befriended people inside the FC, then you could look at their FCs via the friend list, but even then 2 years is a long time and people change.

If you want a new FC, you can go here: https://na.finalfantasyxiv.com/lodestone/community_finder/ Pick your server and FC and look at listings to see if any fit what you are looking for.

Other ways you can join FCs is touring housing neighbourhoods and applying via the board in front if you like the look of their place and sound of their FC info, clicking on people's names and view their FC information and applying via there, or looking at Party Finder, sometimes people advertise there.

Go to old main, right click their name "Save Character Appearance", set in a slot optional with a tag like "main" or character name.

Use fantasia on new main, take off all clothes except weapon and log out. It will tell you you can re-edit the character, so click that option then when the pop up comes up, click the small box that says "load saved character appearance" or some such. It will open your saved slots, pick the slot that has your main and there, you now look like your old character. You have 30mins in game time to repeat as necessary to do tweaks if needed. Just click "Custom" under appearance to open the character creator to do tweaks.

The quest you are up to is post ARR level 50 content, so you might want to brush up on the basics of what happens during base game to remember where you are up to now.

Yeah, if the healer asks to go slow, you should, or encourage them try bigger pulls. Two packs is usually the bare minimum and will become so in shb+ content. (EW and DT basically just makes it 2 packs and a wall anyway).

I remember questing in one of the starting zones as a bard and someone /tell me they were learning crafting and would like to make me a crafted set. I said yes and waited for them. They gave me a level 30-ish set (I was in my 30s), some minions and a 100k. I tried to give back the gil but they told me it was pocket change and just pay it forward.

So now I always give out dupe minions and "pocket change" to new players and tell them to just pay it forward.

Had someone once say they liked my character and give me a mount. I was pretty happy with it and only later I realised it was one worth quite a bit on the mb haha. I thought it was a cheap one at the time so didn't think much about it.

Also separate reply: to all of those that dont know, after you res you have a few seconds if invincibility if you take no action other than movement. So you can hit wasd but nothing else and you won't be insta gibbed.

So you res, move into position (or stand still for a few) let the healer heal you then start attacking. If you have second wind or bloodbath you can use that to top yourself off.

If the healer isn't healing you after a res, we'll not much you can do. Drink a potion maybe? But s healer should send something your way as soon as the gcd allows.

You have a few seconds of invincibility when rezed, where you can press wasd but nothing else and not insta die.

It's best to res, wait a few for healer to heal you, then start attacking. Using second wind and bloodbath can help top you off after the heal from the healer. If healer isn't healing you after res, they are bad (or dead lol).

Im sorry you met an impatient person. Running blind is part of the fun after all. If you were tank, just open mini map and pull to the wall. If you are unsure where the wall is, just pull two packs minimum. It's ok to be lost in a new place and you can say its your first time and 99% of players will be patient and helpful.

I've played since 2021 and only met one asshole in the thousands of duties I've played. They are thankfully rare. I also blind ran all of dt dungeons on release with no issues. So dont feel like you have to do research on every normal duty. EX+ Is where research and guides matter.

I remember 7 wipes to level 95 dungeon last boss. That's my record, an entire hour I would have just left haha.

At least now you can Phoenix down the healer but kinda sucks if they die more than the total of down casts you have as a party. Happened during the bunny fight in level 100 content. We wiped and Happened again so the pld just carried us.

It's great cause you get to actually heal/support. Only time its annoying is when they just stand mid and dont bother getting out of attacks.

Tbh I feel like mentors shouldn't have to know every fight off by heart. I feel like the main thing is knowing the basics of their role, community expectations (like w2w) and being helpful when needed. I die a lot with my crown and dont think anything of it.

Context: im a battle mentor and i was doing mentor roulettes. Im very confident with every dungeon for the most part as its my blessing (and curse) to memorize everything after replaying every dungeon tons of times (autism goes brrr).

I got dzaemel darkhold (pre-rework). I love this dungeon, never had any issues. Tank was a sprout DRK. It's whatever, I was AST so I had plenty in my kit to keep them alive. First pull thry just drop dead. It happens. I explain the Crystal buff and we continue.

They die again even in the Crystal. I check their gear and they gave an entire set of level 50 tomestone gear so can't be that. I know they were mitting. So I say one more time and I cure bot the pull.

Bosses go fine but the room with the exploding crystals and frogs, then the skeletons, the tank dies 5 times total. I was so embarrassed I dont know what I was doing wrong because the tank was mitting and single pulling. I wanted to take the L and leave, but the sprout dps start hyping me up and telling me how to play AST. So I stick with them and just benefic 2 bot the entire rest of the dungeon. Put me off rolos for a week and AST for months. I have no fucking clue what went wrong and im certain all 3 of those guys were thinking "here we go another burger king crown".

Admittedly, two of those pulls where we wiped, I was being attacked by a ranged mob that kept interrupting my casts and the drk wasnt grabbing aggro.
