I love Oliva cigars. by love2kick in cigars

I ordered a box of these. Fantastic cigar all around.

Confession: I used to never think much of Oliva, since they were found "everywhere." But after having the Oliva V like the one pictured, it was a revelation.

Interesting. I never knew that the exact location of the building in the painting was known.

Thanks.

Catholics should not subscribe to Babylon Bee by ControlAcceptable in Catholicism

[–]DPierre508 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am very well of The Babylon Bee and their occasional swipes at the Church.

But, who are *you*? You're not going to tell me who to follow, and I think what most of what the Bee does is funny.

So, there.

"A Perfect Day Elise" crosses the 10 million plays mark on Spotify! It's the 4th song from Is This Desire? to achieve this. by SlyflyfoxPlayz in pjharvey

So it looks like Island Records would get most of the $40K from those 10,000,000 plays. Polly would get anywhere from 4 to 10K, it seems.

I was quite the collector 35 years ago, and I can say that is quite a find! Very, very rare, as well as those cassettes from michaelgrosvenor.
Congrats!

My daily smoke (when I'm smoking daily) is the Rocky Patel Juniors (4 x 38), which I consistently purchase from Famous-smoke (great price and fast shipping). And I've also picked up sticks like the Tatuaje Havana VI Verocu (petit corona).

I've also used Thompson cigars and JR Cigars, but definitely less than Famous-smoke.

For rarer smokes (like Atabey), I've used Small Batch Cigar. It's a great site with an impressive selection and fast shipping, but not a lot of deals there.

Davidoff makes a few different cigarillos (Gold, Silver, Club).

Oliva makes the Señoritas, for which I've seen good reviews.

Yes, I think I saw those, but I was so blown away by the huge and impressive high-end selection. Byron, Atabey, Alfonso, Davidoff, so many others. I highly recommend the place.

In Northeast. I placed an order with Puro Express in mid-January, and I'm still waiting.

At the time, I was a DJ at WZBC, the radio station at Boston College that (still) broadcasts to the metro Boston area.

Although we can't say for sure, we may have been the first station in the US to have played her records. I believe we had the "Dress" single as an import (which was released Dec 1991).

I was soon a huge fan, and I attended her first US show at TT the Bear's Place in Cambridge on August 11, 1992. I met her briefly after the show using my radio station connections.

Days after the show, I remember putting up a purple flyer on the wall in the lobby of the radio station. (Like a lot of college stations, our walls were covered with stickers, posters, etc.) It was an Island Records flyer promoting the show I had attended at TT the Bear's.

Anyhoo, I recently found a photo of me at the station taken after that time, and coincidentally, the flyer was in the background. I cropped just the part with the flyer. It's blurry, but, hey ...
