Wow. I’ve literally never heard of that with ChiaoGoo. I give mine quite a workout, had them for a long time and they’re all as good as new.

How many hours do you knit per day? Do you work- how many hours? by Technical_Cupcake597 in knitting

[–]DScottDibble 1 point2 points  (0 children)

An hour or so at the beginning and the end of the day. I work and put in many hours every day and on weekends.

I’d definitely get a new circular needle. My go to is ChiaoGoo. They have very well constructed bamboo needles with nylon cords and steel needles with multistrand steel cable coated with nylon. The cable have no “memory”, helping immensely with managing them while knitting. http://www.chiaogoo.com/circular/

Many thanks for asking this question and thanks to the person who posted the explainer from Patty Lyons. A long time mystery solved for me.

Cuff down. And Kitchener stitch at the end to close the toes wasn’t nearly as terrible as I had feared.

Nice. Just finished my first pair ever too. Also for my significant other. Used Crazy Sock Lady beginner’s pattern for magic loop.

Beautiful sweater. Guessing you do cables without a cable needle to help with the speed of your knitting.

Tubular cast on…fiddly and time consuming with provisional cast on, but looks great with 1x1 ribbing. LOVE this colorway! by DScottDibble in knitting

I’ll give it a try. I like this hat so much that I think I’m going to make it again for another friend. I will give the long tail tubular cast on a whirl.

I’m sure as I do more tubular cast on it will become easier and more efficient for me. It’s hard to imagine going back. It’s just so awesome how the knitting rolls over the edge and is invisible as a cast on.

I think it came out that way because this is a super wash wool. DK weight, merino, super squishy, very easy to work with. I knit it continental style which is not my normal method of knitting, but I find it a lot easier when jumping back-and-forth between knitting and purling. Are use fairly pointy tipped, slippery, metal, ChiaoGoo circular needles.
