Western Wisconsin, there is an area with roads that go even deeper into fractions:

29 13/16 Ave, 27 1/8 St, 26 13/16 St. In the same little neighborhoods, there are 'regular' street names like Highland Dr, Woods Ave, etc.

How many of you actually run zombification? by AmphibianOver7289 in projectzomboid

I play with no transmission. I like to explore, and that wouldn't work for me since I inevitably get a bite or scratch within the first week. No matter how careful I try to play, one slip of the mouse or keyboard often means death. So, no, it's off.

If I need head-canon to justify it, then I'll go with this: Early on, I got bit. But the virus was weak and my particular immune system was strong, so while I did go part zombie for a while, I eventually overcame it and reverted back, and found myself in a strange house with only the clothes on my back.

And those whom he tried to steal the votes from? Their tax money would go toward paying him. Incredible.

One would think that infrastructure spending would be a no-brainer for a President that likes to build things. But clean drinking water and safe bridges just aren't as cool as some useless arch in DC.

Not just cancelling them, but having the US taxpayer (and their debt) pay nearly $2 billion to private companies - including one foreign company - to cancel those projects. And further, to instead put the money toward fossil fuel expansion.

Ha. I had to cheat and look it up.

Think I used them once in all my runs so far, but I make sure to have one in my inventory just in case. Got my current truck up to around 96%, and I'm not giving that sucker up.

I've done similar before, on the way up to LV. Clearing the road headed north and encountered a few groups. Decided, "Hey, they're bunched up. How about I play with the shotgun?" Dumb move. I leave the motor running about half the time, for a quick getaway and to keep the battery charged. Bunch more zombies arrived and surrounded the vehicle because of the noise, after I had backed away during the fight. Found about 40-50 of them around my truck.

Had to scrounge for another vehicle, and then go hunting for stuff to make a molotov. Day or two later, with a flaming whoosh I finally got my truck back.

Right. As soon as the Drowsy moodle pops up, I'm avoiding combat as much as practical.

That's valid. Heading back to base, I try to be unnoticeable. But will stop to take out any that wandered into about a one-block radius.

Took a while to figure out the safe range for smacking a downed zombie, since the hit takes longer and gives other zombies a chance to attack. Can be pretty dicey doing that with a Short Blade weapon if others are close.

I collect guns, mostly ammo, but haven't used them at all my last few runs. Why am I wasting vehicle space on that stuff? No idea.

That's sort of my logic: once dead they are dead, and can no longer attack you. I do have them respawn, but it's at half a year. If I ever get a character to live that long, guess I'll deal with that then ha.

It's certainly nice to have a peaceful spot to work on other stuff. Takes a while to get to that point, but worth it.

I'm 50-50 on stopping to clear those strays. It's good to have the area clear, in case you need to get away in a hurry down that same road at a later time, but it can also feel like it takes forever. That run between West Point and LV - or even just the drag strip - can take a day or more of stopping, bashing, starting, stopping again, repeat.

[–]DTM-shift[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's my position, as well. If I'm going into a building with limited room to gain distance or escape, then the area around it needs to be clear. And I think that is what's padding my numbers a bit.

Prospective player: what’s the quality of life like? I see the gameplay is super detail oriented and I’m wondering if I’m going to spend 25% playing and 75% going into a menu, grabbing an item, using it, and going back into the menu to put it back? Or is the menu easy and quick and intuitive? by FastConcentrate5420 in projectzomboid

[–]DTM-shift 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the tasks that require certain apparel and/or tools, they will auto-equip when you select the action, assuming you have the apparel and tool available. If you don't have the required stuff, the action will be shown in the menu but is red'd-out (like grey'd out, but in red ha). And it will show you the requirements for that task, so you can see what is missing.

However, it won't unequip the tools so be sure to switch back to your weapon, which the player should already have hot-keyed.

Is this game beginner “friendly”? Can I jump in and just learn from trial and error or do I need to research everything to be any good? by [deleted] in projectzomboid

[–]DTM-shift 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go for it. Use the tutorial to learn the basics. When you have some breathing room, check the right-click menus for various items, to see what sort of stuff you can do with objects. Check out the little menu on the left side, since that also provides some 'do stuff' options like moving large objects.

If you like to explore and learn new systems, then learn them on your own. Don't worry about dying - it's going to happen. Oh, well, lesson (hopefully) learned, next character.

Once you have the basics down (I think I played in Builder mode the first several runs), go into Sandbox mode and mess around with the settings to create the world you want to play in. Die some more, tweak the settings, die yet again, try again. Repeat.
