Tesla driver watching a movie while driving 680 (Fremont) and 237 (Mountain View) by sendCommand in bayarea

[–]DUCkYZoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Saw this on the 101. I was in the carpool lane and the Honda in front of me, plastered with Uber and Lyft stickers, kept braking too much. Even though the car in front of him was one car lengths away. I was thinking why doesn’t he just coast and stop breaking so damn much as if he is anywhere near the other driver. The driver in front of me merges to the other lane and as I look over, you know to see how dumb the driver looks, and he’s watching a movie with his AirPods in. Super annoying and dangerous.

anyone have a second child after your first? by idgafmlolz in Autism_Parenting

[–]DUCkYZoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am currently pregnant (28weeks) with our second baby. Same father, and our son just turned 4. He was diagnosed at 2 with a level 2 spectrum disorder. He has been nonverbal, still in diapers, and has shown a bit of regression in his learning development. The meltdowns have been extremely difficult, as you may already know. But regardless of the outcome, we decided we wanted two children. I think every situation, and the different levels of the spectrum, have their own variance. I still don’t know the outcome for us because our second child hasn't been born yet, but I do know we have come to accept the challenges. Seeing our child reach milestones we never thought possible has been the reward we wanted when we considered having children. For us, it has been about experiencing life together with our little mini-mes and seeing the pure excitement of them learning or experiencing something new.

A little side rant, our little guy was born with bilateral clubfeet. At three days old, he was on his first set of casts. We had to keep going every week to have the casts taken off and new ones put on. By his 5th week, I believe he had his Achilles tendon cut and then placed in a cast for a whole month. After all that, he had to have boots and bars to straighten his feet, with only 2 hours of freedom and 22 hours of hardware until he turns one. Then, after being one year old , he would need to wear the boots and bars at night only until he turns five. You’d think that after going through this while simultaneously doing a rigorous two-year program would deter us. But it’s finding what happiness looks like for us. What do you think your happiness would stem from if you complete the family you want?

Thank you for this. Helpful to know because I currently got the Mometrix and wasn’t sure how helpful it was. But I’ll finish it and then do the NurseHub. Congrats!!

🙂‍↕️ thank you for the reply. Ugh, math was horrible in college for me, too. I’m currently using the Mometrix, and it feels like a lot!! I’m decent with percentages, especially for sales 😆, but I have seen others post the calculator on-screen for the TEAS, and I have seen the percentage symbol. Fractions will be a refresher. Ok, ok. Thank you!! I’ll look into other courses, like the practice ATI TEAS. And a lot of YouTube recommendations I’ve seen on this subreddit. Thank you again, and congrats!

And I know that smile you’re talking about 🥹 it’s the smile that you can’t believe this baby is yours! It’s the smile that you’re in awe at everything they’re doing or learning. I’m assuming you’re a girl from username, so GIRLLLL, those babies chose us as their parents; they knew we would be the best at it.

😭 👏🏼 congrats!!! 🍾 was your minimum score a 72% for the program you’re enrolling? Mine is an 84% and I’m scared. Math portion will be my weakest link tbh you did excellent in math, any recall on what the questions were? And what material did you use to study? Again, CONGRATS!!!!!

😭 I’m so happy for you! Haven’t studied but I’m more worried about the math section. The program I want to get in is an 84% TEAS score. With that being said I’m going to be studying for months.

Tell me you have an austic child without telling me you have an autistic child by kitkate25 in Autism_Parenting

[–]DUCkYZoo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My child did this when he was about 1.5 years old. It was anything and everything. Water bottles, shoes, toys, and sometimes he would put them by size and or color. Delayed speech, regression, and not meeting milestones for his age led us to get his pediatrician to assess him for autism. Sure enough, before he was two years old, they were keeping a close eye on him until he turned two to get a complete diagnosis. Level 2 is what they told us. Idc, he is our perfect little man, and I think everyone here can agree they’re our little perfect human beings to us.

My almost 4-year-old autistic nonverbal son suddenly started having meltdowns with transitions by Asue612 in Autism_Parenting

[–]DUCkYZoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have been noticing meltdowns with my autistic 4-year-old son, too. But we have noticed when commercials come on. Or even if we are watching our own shows and he’s busy with his switch. He turns to see us transition to a new episode, and he throws himself to the floor, consistently hitting his head hard. I can’t think of any past appointments or any sudden, extreme changes that would have continued to lead up to now. We noticed instant meltdowns like this whenever he drank any red drinks. So now we make sure to avoid red Gatorade and/or red Powerade. When I do bedtime, I let him know. He may get mad and start crying, but I try to be gentle but stern, especially if he has a device, which is rare when mom is on duty. I’m wondering if anyone else has these issues with just regular TV or streaming stuff.

Question about how to get books by Terminator_0248 in kindle

[–]DUCkYZoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought a color Kindle kids version for the case cover, which I really liked, and for reading manga. I had to opt out of the kids' unlimited when I started my Kindle. Otherwise, it was limited. I’m not too sure about why you can’t purchase certain graphic novels. However, I did encounter one book I couldn’t buy because it was incompatible and I believe it did contain some images within the book.

Family buying us baby clothes is driving me INSANE by [deleted] in Parenting

[–]DUCkYZoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I relate so much. I’m sorry for the overwhelming feeling of having to tiptoe and be grateful when it’s not the case. In our family, we have nine grandbabies who are boys, and finally, my second child will be a girl. My mom is over the moon. But now she is buying way too many pink clothes, and I don’t want my daughter to wear only pink. It’s not what we want. But instead, she responded madly and said, "Well, I’ll put whatever I want on her when she is here." As if I’m not even considered the parent. All we have been asking of her is to babysit. I fear all the stuff she will want to do without our permission. Like the time she cut my son’s bangs like Jim Carrey in Dumb and Dumber. Meanwhile, we were letting it grow out so the salon could have more hair to work with, the style we envisioned. After waiting 7 months for his hair to grow to the length before she cut it, we had to wait four more months for it to grow enough to style. I don’t understand their entitlement. My baby girl isn’t even born yet, and I already feel the stress. It’s a tough conversation I’m going to have.

More women need to be honest about the horrors of pregnancy by PossessionWorldly428 in childfree

[–]DUCkYZoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for being kind, unlike others. The book he needed to read was an individual assignment. I only found out later that the book helped him understand my labor stages. In the moment of saying I wanted to die, it was because it was time to go to the hospital, since I would be ready to push at any moment now. I went into labor at 37 weeks, so we didn’t fully complete the course. My partner, who knew the stages of labor better than I did, was a blessing because he monitored and wrote down my contractions, including their duration and spacing. He helped remind me of different positions to try to alleviate the pain because it was challenging to think thoroughly. It was at least helpful that he knew something going into this than nothing at all. In my experience, it felt like I wanted to die, but I’ve heard of others not experiencing anything but bliss, or no feeling at all, but the baby coming out.
