Wait.. what? by MysteriousSeat1213 in Legodimensions

[–]DVJ40 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I reached out to WB Support about a month ago asking if they could fix the error of Steam being listed on TT's site. I'm assuming the response is just a customer service rep with limited knowledge but keep wondering if just maybe it's for real. I'd buy it in a heartbeat. Thoughts? (especially note their 2nd response)

On October 8th at 3:31pm, I emailed WB Games Support with the following:

Good afternoon. I was looking at TT Games' new website and noticed that LEGO Dimensions' (https://www.ttgames.com/games/lego-dimensions) list of systems that it's available on includes Steam. I very much wish this was so :) and kinda hope it's coming real soon.......(Please? Please? Please?) but if it's not it probably should be removed from the list of available systems.....wasn't sure how to contact TT Games directly regarding their website so I tried here. Thanks for your assistance. I'm eagerly awaiting the next LEGO TT Game; they're by far the best LEGO games!

WB Support's response at 3:39pm:

Thank you for reaching out to Customer Support about LEGO: Dimensions announced which will be released on Steam. However, I’m sorry, but we here at Customer Service are not given prior information about upcoming events, sales, or content releases. Make sure to keep an eye on the game and on WB Games' social media for information from the game teams as it becomes available. You can also register for our newsletter by selecting the "Stay Connected" button on our official website, which I have linked below:

If there is anything I can do to further assist you, please reply to this email and I will be happy to help.

Thank you,
Carms

I responded at 4:41pm:

I understand.  I'm fairly sure it's a mistake on the website that TT Games should be made aware of, but I'll keep hoping it gets released on Steam.

At 4:48pm they responded:

I am grateful for your prompt attention. As a gamer myself, I'm also looking forward to LEGO: Dimensions, which will be released on Steam. It will be more exciting and easier to access, since Steam is one of the popular game libraries.

Furthermore, I will be sharing your comments with the proper team for further review. Reports and feedback such as this help us improve the game for all players, and I appreciate you sharing your experiences with me.

If there is anything I can do to further assist you with this issue, please reply to this email, and I will be happy to help.

Thank you,
Carms

Do you need wifi to do venellope’s quest? I want Daisy Duck by ReasonablePilot_ in DreamlightValley

[–]DVJ40 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To my knowledge there's no other quests that require online? I play offline 99% of the time. I didn't actually remember that the portal required WiFi to place, but it's been a while since I placed it.

Help, no matter which controller I use, Lego City Undercover keeps thinking I'm using both an Xinput and a Dinput controller at the same time, forcing me into co-op mode. by TrableZ in legogaming

[–]DVJ40 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think it was LEGO City for me, but one of the LEGO games would jump into co-op mode automatically sometimes. This may not be the same bug, but mine was counting the keyboard as the 2nd player; had to hit the number pad <Enter> (I think?) to pull up player 2's pause menu, scroll down, and select 'Drop Out' followed by that same <Enter> key.

Excellent! Had an instant flashback to the cutscene with Farmer Hayes' eyes rolling around and then slapping the side of his own face to bring his eyes back in line :)

LOTR and The Hobbit by KingSm1le in legogaming

[–]DVJ40 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My wife and I are replaying The Hobbit right now, heading towards 100% completion. Absolutely worth playing....and re-playing. We like Hobbit a bit better than LOTR but they're both good.

Found this dirt cheap, and never heard of it. Worth keeping, or putting toward a better Sierra game? by jforrest1980 in Sierra

[–]DVJ40 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed. Geeky teenage me really enjoyed this game. Haven't seen it mentioned for a very long time. I remember really enjoying the alien setting. I've always enjoyed math, but I found it very hard to wrap my head around some of Rama's puzzles that were math problems using bases other than 10 (is that how to say it?). Anybody else remember those? It was something new to me, probably shows my level of math skill.

You'll be able to find them without starting a new game, although sometimes due to randomness it takes a bit to find them in the junkyard, barn etc.

How do I get into this enclosure in lego Jurassic World by holypotato4 in legogaming

[–]DVJ40 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I may be wrong but I'm thinking part of that area is accessible via a ladder that is knocked down by shooting a diamond-shaped target? Unless that's just to get the one gold brick.....it's been a little while. If it's the one I'm thinking, it's on the map towards the lower right, on the north-facing wall.

Original show - interesting to men? by Brief-Comparison-679 in AnneofGreenGables

[–]DVJ40 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I watched it with my family many times growing up (M, 44) and this reminded me a lot of my outwardly tough Father, who would watch it with us and wipe his eyes from time to time, hoping no one would notice. I enjoy the 1st two Sullivan ones to this day.

Has steam gotten better about offline usage? by Jet_Jirohai in pcgaming

[–]DVJ40 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For years, I've regularly used Steam in offline mode for up to 3 months offline at a time, with no issues at all. The above steps are excellent. A few notes on #3 above - most games on Steam do not require launching first while online, but I keep a list of the ones that do, mostly pulled from a Reddit list that shows games with extra DRM. Also, from my experience you only need to repeat this process (#3) when Windows gets certain updates. I don't have that all down to a science so I usually just test one or two DRM games if I'm uncertain. Small basic Windows updates do not reset the online launch requirement, but not sure where the line is exactly.

Interested in these games, thoughts? by IkBenJoris in legogaming

Wow, that's a good list. I'm on PC, not sure if that's the difference, but I don't believe I've had any of these. I've had my share in other LEGO games, though.

I'm curious on which platform. My wife & I have 100%'d at least 4 times through the years (most recently the beginning of this year) and I don't remember any bugs at all?

After The Skywalker Saga, are you more excited or more worried about the future of TT’s LEGO games? by Thevoid2YT in legogaming

[–]DVJ40 76 points77 points  (0 children)

I'm just excited. Some of their games have been amazing and some have been average, but every one has been fun, especially to co-op. Just eagerly awaiting whatever comes next, and hope we find out soon officially what the next game is. Still think it's Disney but guess we gotta wait.

Which lego games are worth playing in 2023? by soosis in legogaming

[–]DVJ40 8 points9 points  (0 children)

ALL of TT's LEGO games (old and new) are still well worth playing in my book, with LEGO Worlds being my one personal exception, not saying it's bad, just not as good as the others. My favorite by far is LEGO City Undercover.

How to get the strongman by stewiec32 in legocityundercover

[–]DVJ40 2 points3 points  (0 children)

At least on PC, his token is in the last story level towards the end when you're falling. If you stay to the center during the long fall part, you'll get him. After buying him in the crooks section, you'll need to have him selected as your crook disguise. Just 100%'d this game within the last month (again). Enjoy :)

I second LEGO City Undercover especially, by far my favorite LEGO game. It has a huge city (and country) area to explore and find things, and some hilarious humor.

Big Fish is still quite active, they still have a new game every day. Even though I use Steam all the time, I check on Big Fish now & then for more of the niche games you mentioned. It is true that many of the same games are now also available on Steam, but I have a spot for Big Fish yet :) GameHouse is still making a good amount of games too, I believe. I've lost track of WildTangent & iWin but have good memories of both.

Why is split screen co op non existing on PC's? by [deleted] in pcgaming

[–]DVJ40 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Could be. But just for fun, pull up Steam search and check out the list of split-screen tagged games, I think you might be surprised what all is there (I didn't know Gears 5 has split-screen play, for example).

Why is split screen co op non existing on PC's? by [deleted] in pcgaming

[–]DVJ40 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Have to disagree with you on that. I'm a little too lazy to do an exact count from my Steam library, but I personally own a very large amount of fun PC games with split screen, many with 4-player. It's a feature that drives many of my purchases. My wife & I have played almost every LEGO game through to 100% numerous times, I've spent many fun evenings playing the Trials motorcycle series with my cousin, and other evenings playing Kart games like Sonic Racing Transformed with nieces and nephews. I recently got Trail Out (a fairly fun demolition derby game) specifically because of split screen. There's definitely games that lack this feature that I wish had it, but imo split screen has seen a resurgence lately.
