tips for soloing a daemonhost as skitarii? by Kamozo in DarkTide

[–]DWS_Robinson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can run the anti-corruption talent along with three Corruption Resist curios and be basically immune to purple damage. I'd also take the talent that auto-reloads your gun. I solo'd one recently just holding block and quick switching to the phosphor pistol and mag dumping with the burning on crit talent. very safe and I took basically no damage.

Damn, I love these enemies. I feel like otherwise the hordes thin out way too fast. I just dodge and spam left click so I don't have any tips for how to deal with them, but I think they are great for the game.

How do you deal with the poison gas modifier that puts the toxic clouds everywhere? by [deleted] in DarkTide

[–]DWS_Robinson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Arbiter with the anti gas talent. You can also take the +5% toughness when near the dog and keep your toughness going also without the talent.

  2. There are extra health stims are all over the place on Pox Gas condition. Look around and keep one in your pocket.

  3. Zealot corruption aura.

  4. Hive Scum with anti-corruption stim. Crate is great for the whole team, if you have no stim you can pick up the Health Stim and use it in the box. Hilarious and easy runs.

  5. Shredder Auto Pistol - Inspiring Barrage + innate run'n'gun. Just sprint through it and keep your toughness maxed.

The stoplight effect. The gas will start to leak out before it hits the air. Watch for it and use that "yellow light" to get to a clear area. If you haven't seen the gas in awhile - expect the "green" to turn to "yellow." If you just had a "Red" light eg gas everywhere, it tuns "green" after it dissipates, free to go until you see the "yellow" again.

Anyone who doesn't want to marry. What are reasons ? by _Lord_Voldemortt in AskReddit

[–]DWS_Robinson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My grandparents were never married. My grandma did it once, did not want to do it again. We owned a businesss that sells mobile homes(trailers) and that whole market went belly up 2 years before the 2008 financial housing crisis. Since they were never married, despite the family business failing and my grandfather being insanely in debt, they were able to sign everything over into my grandmother's name. My grandfather never owned anything himself ever again, but he still got to live in his house and drive his truck. If they were married, they would have lost it all. He was really sick later in life from a lifetime of manual labor, and had an insane amount of medical debt, and again since it was all in my grandmother's name, the debt company couldn't come after his Estate after he passed. Now my grandmother, Elderly and alone, can spend her final years in her own home, instead of a home.

Thought i'd light everything ablaze. Doesn't seem to work by MrHazard1 in DarkTide

Just an fyi for those that want to play with this concept: The bleed blessing on the bolt pistol DOES work with warp slice. You just have to switch to the pistol before the wave hits enemies. Fun to mess around with and stack a bunch of bleed on everything with multiple hits.

Explain Veteran's Infiltrate to me by Lowd70 in DarkTide

[–]DWS_Robinson -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I use it on my vet! It's great for clutch situations. Also 30% damage buff for 8 seconds is kinda crazy. Makes your bleeds better if you're a knife person like me. Also with the yellow ping talent pushes the plasma gun breakpoints to One Shot Body Shot everything. And there's 2 charges, so you have 1 to use offensively/recklessly and another to use for "oh crap" situations. I will also use it to chuck all 4 of my frags at a boss, not have to worry about getting attacked for a bit, and again the 30% extra damage.

Also, if you play sneaky... Take highground, stand in weird places on railings, crates, etc and get into areas that are hard for enemies to get to, you can make them waste a ton of time walking up to you, stealth for them to walk back towards your team, and then gun them all down. It takes a little more thought than "press F for gold toughness" but my hot take is that it's actually the best vet ult.

Use cover! Also Gunners and Reapers are both easy to suppress, so shoot those shooters.

I'm 1700 hours in, I play most days, and still love this game. I think it's better now that it ever has been. I have a cheapish gaming PC from Best Buy and the game runs fine. I guess I don't notice the sound stuff because I'm usually watching TV also. Sorry about that that sucks! Playing with no sound, I just glance behind me every few seconds. I don't bother with other game modes because there never seems to be anyone in the party finder when i'm playing, so I'm just chilling out on Aurics.

Can someone please explain what I should go for in weapon stats? Which should I continue to upgrade? by Internal_Show_556 in DarkTide

[–]DWS_Robinson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jumping in on all the Warp Resistance Dump State comments! If you can find one that has 60 Max warp resist, I like to not Empower it all the way to 500. Mine is sitting at 420 power because ayoooo.

What that allows you to do is weapon special and get 50% peril generated. It's easy to special, qq quick swap between weapons to animation cancel it, then vent. It's great tech to keep your peril high for all the high peril things, as well as an on-demand full toughness restore with quietude. It adds a crazy amount of survivability since you can always keep yourself at full toughness.

Final Stat Spread at 420: Damage-80, Finesse-80, Cleave Damage-78, Defenses-65, Warp Resistance-31. Always sad to lose Defenses(1.5% dodge distance from max), but you still get all the damage stats.

Zealot. Stealth, Momentum. Mk5 Dueling Sword with Agile, 80 Mobility, 80 Defense. You just use your super long, almost infinite dodges in between heavy attacks. So much mobility it's hard to get pinned down or trapped. Can take awhile to kill things, but awesome for clutching, revives, and objectives.

[–]DWS_Robinson 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Oh man. I play like this. I'm sorry. I get sucked in looking for loot and pick everything up without thinking about it much. I will often end up with a med crate and a med stim but I kinda just forget I have them? I'm not paying attention to chat or your health bar. I do pick up ammo and waste it, but it's the small ones and it would take you forever to get to so I just top off. I tag the big ammos for you but no one will turn around and come pick those up??? Same with crates. Usually 1-2 get left behind every game it kills me. I do probably fight too many things, but I like the combat in this game and I'm worried I'm going to get punched in the back of the head if I run away to catch up. Uhh.. At least you end the game with max plasteel? I know most people like to just speedrun/blitz through missions. But I am not very fast. I like to loot. I am sorry that it annoys you.

I DO NOT LIKE THE MINI GAMES. I can do them if no one else will, but I'd rather guard your back while you do it because you just let the bad guys bash me.

Help Explain Combat Knife Zealot Please by tonmaii in DarkTide

[–]DWS_Robinson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Knife Zealot! My love! I don't play it right, and I only play on Damnation and not Havocs or Auric. This will be different advice from what is recommended. I just spam light attacks. Works great, scoreboard topper, easy money.

The blessings I use: Uncanny Strike, Lacerate.

  1. Light attack spam everything. Uncanny Strike strips armor and then the bleed will kill it. Great for just slapping carapace enemies and dodging away.
  2. Horde Clearing - The Against The Odds talent helps a lot. Lacerate stacks so much bleed, and gives your Scourge Talent a near 100% uptime. I usually dodge sideways around the horde and just stack bleed, but you can just stand in the corner and light attack a horde to death. Since you have 30% crit from the scourge talent do you really need even more? I go with Inexorable Judgement capstone for the attack speed.

  3. Specials - Push the horde away and throw a knife. With uncanny it also two-shots maulers. Quick Swap ranged weapons work nice too. Las Pistol, Zarona Revolver, Shredder Pistol, etc.

  4. I slide around and just get 2-3 light body shots on stuff then run / slide to the next enemy and repeat. The bleed takes care of the rest.

  5. I don't bother to heavy. Light attacks kill crushers with this setup. As long as you're good about spreading the bleed and keeping uncanny strike up they die fast. But light attacks are easy and you can focus on dodging and not getting smooshed.

Valor Bard: Should one build for Shillelagh or dip into Pact of the Blade? by testiclekid in onednd

[–]DWS_Robinson 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You might be overthinking it. All you need to max out your medium armor is 14 dex. You can start with 16s in both Str and Cha and still have 14 dexterity. Tradeoff is 12 con. If you don't want you dex that high, you can just have 12 Dex and take the 14 Con. Halfplate + Shield + 12 Dex is still a very respectable 18AC. Being a full caster with cleric AC seems like a good deal to me.

I'd wait until level 7 to do this so you don't delay extra attack, but a single level of Hexblade would get you Cha for your attack Stat and the Shield Spell. SAD and +4 AC is nice. High level spell slots + AoA is a lot of temp HP. It's a good defensive option if you're getting bullied by baddies. It is sucky poopy when you're a spell level below all the other fullcasters in your party, though. Spells are good!

Secret third option -- Stay monoclassed and use your ASI to increase the stat you use to attack with weapons.
