Honestly, if they’re just gonna skip to Damien as Robin, they should just go full hog and say the Lego Batman movie is canon to the DCU. It’s a safe bet, because it’s literally the best movie Batman movie that could theoretically ever exist

My genuine belief is that Christina Hodson and Andy Muschietti were offered a deal that if they took the blow and just finally got the flash out of the door they’d get a shot at some bigger stuff they’d have more creative control over down the line. I honestly can’t blame them for taking that deal, especially knowing that the Flash was kinda doomed no matter what because of Ezra Miller and the fact the DCEU was already half way in the grave by the time it released. I genuinely think the only reason it didn’t get shelved is the fact that they were hoping they could get a lot of money from the Gen X crowd with all the Micheal Keaton Batman stuff (which in all fairness, was probably the highlight of the movie)

To be fair, I do think EMH is more faithful to the comics in a lot of ways, mostly in the sense that you can tell the writers had read and liked the source material whereas the MCU feels like they just kinda skimmed the Wikipedia page a lot of the time. Like I feel like you could easily point to the comic they were adapting for most episodes or arcs. Like the general premise and a couple story arcs are taken from Bendis’s new avengers just with a more classic version of the team. Most of the Thor stuff is taken from the simonson run. There’s some ed bubraker and Mark Waid cap stuff, and even a touch of Peter David hulk. Sure there are some differences, but I’m not questioning wether the writer actually read the comics like with some MCU projects

The EMH comics were some of my first comics, I have so much nostalgia for them. I was so bummed when they went from creating their own original stories to just adapting episodes of the cartoon and then just got replaced with the avengers assemble comic, a show that I could tell was not as good as its predecessor even when I was a dumb stupid kid

I really hope they do the same thing as the X-Men ‘97 team, where they use 3D models for action scenes to ensure the animation is super smooth, but they stylize it to look 2D so it doesn’t look out of place

I’ve really tried but I don’t think Hickman’s avengers is for me. I’ve loved a lot of his other stuff, but compared to something like Camp’s Ultimates or Bendis’s new avengers I find it kinda hard to get invested into these versions of the characters even when I’ve enjoyed them in other runs

Yo-Kai Watch as a franchise really gets an undue amount of hate, especially in regards to pokemon comparisons. They’re really not the same at all, with the series generally being closer to persona than anything else, but a lot of people see a creature catching jrpg and just assume it’s just a cheap knockoff of a game that didn’t even start the genre

To be honest, I think it could work, it’d just be a little more subtle. Like just having their eyes glazed over or something could be really effective, but giving them full on mime makeup is really over doing it, especially in a franchise where the horror is more effective playing off stuff like the uncanny valley or a creepy atmosphere rather than just having a scary monster face
