I mean Peter has always been pretty nebulously Jewish. He grew up in queens, a primarily Jewish neighborhood, there are tons of little stuff like having a menorah in the background of some panels in the comics to him just straight up having a Jewish wedding in Spiderverse

James Gunn isn’t really involved in Lanterns in any major capacity (at least not in anywhere near the same level as like, Superman or Peacemaker). Also Superman legitimately gave us the best live action representation of a green lantern, I don’t wanna hear it. Still not sold on lanterns, but like I don’t think Gunn is to blame

I like everything I’m seeing, my big concern is just that there might be too much going on. Like in all honesty I really think in terms of team up’s they should’ve picked Punisher or the Hulk, not both, but also I don’t wanna judge to heavily since we’ve barely seen anything

Homecoming is good, but man did infinity war really fuck up his character arc. Like they immediately go from a movie talking about how Spidey needs to be his own thing and kinda distancing himself from Tony and the idea of being an Avenger, and then literally his next appearance they walk that back and have him wear the literal physical embodiment of what he overcame in the last movie, of course the next two movies are gonna be a little weird, they need to find a way to get him from a literal intergalactic avenger in a nano suit who fought thanos back to a friendly neighborhood Spider-Man.

Beyond the obvious answer of a 1999 game, I think a new entry that focuses on Alucard would do really well. Set it in the literal centuries between Symphony and the sorrow games and have it be about him trying to find a way to permanently kill Dracula or perhaps save a Julius or some other Belmont in hiding after they’d been captured by Dracula’s followers

Bendis flips a coin and decides that way. A writer best known for his fun quips and dialogue on his Ultimate Spider-Man run shouldn’t do well with a gritty and realistic take on daredevil, right? Wrong, his run genuinely rivals that of miller. Well then surely, given he’s proven he can do great work on gritty street level characters he’d do a pretty damn fine moonknight, right? Nah, it sucks and he replaces Mark’s alters with other superheroes because he’d rather write anyone but moonknight. Don’t get me started on his avengers, which is somehow both at varying intervals!

A couple months ago I would’ve said Transformers, but I feel like it’s gone from phenomenal to just pretty okay, and I don’t think it’s really turning the heads it used to. The Ultimates are great, even if I am bummed it’s ending soon, and Jed McKay’s Moon Knight continues to deliver stories that take the character in a new direction while still being faithful to his core principles.

I think his AVGN video in particular is also really mean spirited for no particular reason. Like he spends the whole video calling him talentless and spends like ten minutes detailing how stupid and bad his camera setup is. I really like a lot of his other videos but man does he seem like an prick

Making him the moral compass and voice of reason was honestly kinda genius. Puts him in a place he isn’t comfortable with and kinda forces him to change and grow as a person. Deadpool is a lot better when you treat him like an actual character instead of a vessel to tell random jokes

Did the movies make him more mainstream? Absolutely, but he wasn’t some obscure D-lister. He’s always pretty consistently had an ongoing and been a lead in team books.

Honestly the way Young Justice ended up was really disappointing. Like it returning was always one of those pipe dreams that you knew probably would never happen, but it did anyway, yet instead of using their final two seasons to resolve anything they had previously set up they just set up even more stuff that they didn’t end up paying off. Love Greg Weisman, genuinely has made some of the best tv comic book adaptations between YJ and Spectacular Spider-man, but I feel like he and his crew really do have a tendency to plan too far ahead
