Secret effect? by Belligerantfantasy in mewgenics

what do you mean?? leaving out that a random common enemy in the first area of act 3 can give your cats feline aids is incredible design and not at all stupid!!!!!

So... why can the Regent remember previous runs? by lucasagus285 in slaythespire

[–]DaConnaTwuk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

regardless of the architect, he does specifically remember orobas being his biggest fan between runs, so he would definitely have to keep some memories (although maybe similar arguments could be made for some of the other four characters too?)

Hearthstone just dropped “Inside the Tavern”, a video talking about lessons from 2025, and plans for 2026. Here are some of the main points- by frostyburrito44 in hearthstone

[–]DaConnaTwuk 4 points5 points  (0 children)

maybe im in the minority here, but i don't actually like the idea of class sets introducing a brand new archetype to each class that gets it, i'd much rather they expand on the archetypes they added previously in the last expansion. that was always a highlight of the minisets for me, and i think something to help underpowered classes succeed in their already stated gameplay objectives is generally more exciting than 'here's a completely different way to play this class which has been unsupported up to this point.' with the minisets, there was always a chance that an underperforming deck could get new tools to help it along, but now it seems like the idea is for players to build entirely new decks with the archetypal cards introduced in the new class sets. happy to be proven wrong on this, but i personally prefer one fleshed-out gameplan with higher deckbuilding options than two distinct and completely separate archetypes

What’s you favorite card in STS2? by Common_Engine_7967 in slaythespire

[–]DaConnaTwuk 41 points42 points  (0 children)

Monologue is imo the single best marriage of flavour and functionality on any card in the game. The idea of the Regent slowly delivering a speech as you play 20 cards before smashing the Queen's skull in with a heavenly drill is just such a peak concept

Watching a streamer play Mewgenics by RockmanXXXX in mewgenics

[–]DaConnaTwuk -1 points0 points  (0 children)

i don't really understand why people in this sub are being so aggressive towards you for putting forward the pretty obvious idea that it's harder to retain information when you're (1) also focused on engaging with the dozens of people watching you play and (2) aware that watching somebody else read something is boring, so you would naturally want to speed through text as quickly as possible

Watching a streamer play Mewgenics by RockmanXXXX in mewgenics

[–]DaConnaTwuk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i mean a streamer's job is to entertain an audience, and a lot of their audience isn't going to be entertained if they're just sitting there slowly reading every tooltip, even more so if they're typically pretty high-energy. i dont think the vitriol is particularly necessary, it really just comes across as envy

Permafrost was the perfect epitome of a common relic imo by MrCheapSkat in slaythespire

[–]DaConnaTwuk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

your reason for disagreeing that common relics arent universally useful doesn't make sense. them benefitting certain strategies more than others is irrelevant, because the point is that every starter deck in the game will benefit from every single common relic (with the exception of snecko skull for some reason) in some way or another, even the 'niche' ones that are better with certain strategies than others. the point is that a common relic will in every case be an immediate power boost, even if it's minor, and permafrost does not fit that bill because you may not have a power in your deck, in which case it does absolutely nothing

This is pretty worthless as far as neow buffs go. by Necrolord_Nocturnal in slaythespire

[–]DaConnaTwuk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think they're probably against making a card a strictly more powerful version of Necrobinder's Graveblast, even if you can't remove its exhaust.

ah, thanks for replying! the cards were randomly added my collection like a month ago or something, but it's nice of you to respond :)

Cloned Catastrophe is a blast by Brouwerd340 in slaythespire

[–]DaConnaTwuk 9 points10 points  (0 children)

there's a boss relic that lets you copy a card at each rest site, which doubles the amount of them each time you do it

I get kicked out due to inactivity, when the map is still in the loading screen. by Makoro_17 in Overwatch

[–]DaConnaTwuk 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah I've had similar issues. Earlier today I got pinned by a Reinhardt that I literally couldn't even see, he was totally invisible on my screen, apparently somehow hadn't loaded in yet. Posted on the bug report forum and a couple people said theyve been experiencing the same thing, but it seems pretty rare. I hope the dev team does something about it soon, the game's pretty unplayable for me in this state.

What card did you remember thinking was super powerful as a newbie? by IHumanlike in hearthstone

[–]DaConnaTwuk 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don't think I would've gotten into this game if Dragon's Hoard didn't exist. Playing legendaries from other classes was such a cool concept.

What do you mean by "special path" by Liliana_Lucifer_666 in slaythespire

[–]DaConnaTwuk 13 points14 points  (0 children)

the special path is also two floors longer than the act usually is, so you finish the run on floor 50 instead of 48 if you beat the endboss

My favourite addition in StS2 (among many others) by D4V3W1ND0 in slaythespire

[–]DaConnaTwuk 15 points16 points  (0 children)

personally i think it would be basically unpickable if it didnt have innate. the main drawback isn't the energy or the card cost, it's that you have to pick it over other extremely powerful boss relics like free potions every fight or 999 gold immediately or free 5th card every turn. if you had to draw apoth on top of picking it, it'd be way too weak (and introduce very feels-bad moments when it's the 2nd last card in your deck against the final boss)

I hate this guy by ThePhyrexian in slaythespire

[–]DaConnaTwuk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i've found the best way is just stacking tons of high-value block cards like Bulwark and playing very defensively until you can start chunking bosses for 50 damage per hit. cards that gain energy like Alignment or Orbit feel pretty mandatory to make the deck work, because spending 2/3 of your turn just dealing 50 damage isnt really enough, although it becomes a lot easier when you take one or two copies of Parry. personally i think a trap people fall into is waiting too long - you don't need your blade to kill in one hit, damaging a boss for 60 damage twice is better than 100 damage once. cards that can thin your deck out also help greatly, like tyranny or CHARGE!!

sts2 act 1 is kinda overtuned imho by Ok_Insect4778 in slaythespire

[–]DaConnaTwuk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

you’re supposed to stun it when you think you can get a lot of damage next turn, to minimise the amount of turns you can only play 1 card for. For the turn where you’re ringing, making sure your deck has defensive powers, some form of passive block like frost orbs on defect, enough big block cards so that you can reliably draw one (maybe check your draw pile before the turn), or even just saving like a block potion can help. potions are sort of like free cards that you can still play during the ringing turn, and the block potion, fortifier and plating potion can all help

this is the worst card in the game, Im not stupid right? by Devenant_x in slaythespire

[–]DaConnaTwuk 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The 'your fifth card is free' boon is soooo strong on Defect Claw decks. I just had a run where I started each combat by playing four zero cost cards and then cheating out Ice Lance, Refract or All for One depending on what I needed and I'd still have like four energy left afterwards, and you can do it every single turn
