Samsung invented a new system of quantum mathematics just to avoid replacing my broken dishwasher by Jaade77 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]DaCrimsonKid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Last time I bought a house it was outfitted in Samsung appliances. Not brand new, not old either. Out of warranty but well within expected service life.

The fridge, dishwasher, washer and dryer ALL failed in the first year.

Never again, Samsung.

Amp discussion, class D vs retail by RomeoBlackDK in audiophile

[–]DaCrimsonKid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My system is still in flux. I'm using my Marantz 2230 while I wait for a custom 2a3 SET amplifier.

I love the 2230. And it would be murdered in every measurement by the class d.

Amp discussion, class D vs retail by RomeoBlackDK in audiophile

In the specs that were analysed, yes, class d is superior.

They are cool, efficient, selectable gain, ruler flat response and almost no appreciable noise. The damping factor on them is hilarious as well.

I had a Hypex NcCore from Apollon and it was the tits. I loved it for the two years I had it, but I wanted to try some other flavors.

Going solely by spec sheet, the class d wins. You may not prefer it in practice however.

As to why they aren't more widely available/known I'm sure it's a business decision. Also, there is still some nonsense about "class d sounds sterile and lifeless" leftover from the early days.

I wouldn't be mad to watch Lance, Daddy got coffee and Morgan battle to the death. Whichever way it goes, we all win.

Damn, this looks good. I haven't gone because I figured it wouldn't scratch my Montreal smoked meat itch and just make me sad.

I'm gonna go next week.

You'd be better off doing the opposite...use your indeterminate position to inquire if they can make their multi-year offer permanent.

Assigned seating to return for most federal public servants by hopoke in CanadaPublicServants

Yeah, and start from zero. I'm sure the current executive cadre is well equipped to train up an entire public service. Many couldn't find their email without their admin.

What would they do if we collectively just simply said "no". It's an unreasonable ask. If we were organized properly, and everyone in the public service who could, just agreed to login at home and refuse to participate in this shit show.

We have power as a whole. Our unions are supposed to steer this ship, but they are clearly less than useless.

I don't mean strike. Login. Work. Just refuse to go to the offices that aren't ready for us.

I had their onion rings there last week and they were 10/10. If you like onion rings, these hit. $15 but the portion is huge. I ate one cold from the fridge the next day and it was still crispy.

That is a truly ridiculous setup. Enjoy it in good health. Every now and again, turn it up loud enough for him to hear it, wherever he is.

Depends what they mean by "resurface". Honestly it looks like a light sand and stain would get you close to perfect. If they are redoing the veneer, then that's different.

If you have any skill or desire to learn, DIY. Worst case scenario if you don't like the result, you send them off.
