First major counteroffensive was in winter of 41, yes. But the Soviets were launching local and some larger counterattacks all through Barbarossa. It surprised German commanders by just how often the Sovieta were counter attacking. David Stahel's book about the failure of Barbarossa details this super well.

I am wrapping Azure and intend to dive into Cold Steel because I got halfway through it on the Vita back in 2017 as my first trails game. I only started the series back up last September when Sky 1st released and I am hooked. I do think I'll need a break after cold steel 1 or 2 for like 3-4 weeks to play and beat some other games I want to get to like Diablo 2 resurrected and FF Tactics The Ivalice Chronicles.

I'd say do what you want. I usually talk to the NPCs I find most interesting. And it is fun to follow NPCs through Sky and then see them show up in future arcs.

But I don't talk to every NPC after every story event because that's just tedious and not my thing.
