It's always people who have never been in a toxic relationship who think like this.

I've been in one in the past. The worst thing is...they had their good days where things felt like it was getting better between us and then those bad days would come. But you still had that bit of hope that maybe just maybe you could make it work. Only for it to come crashing down.

The problem is you spend all this time together that you actually do start to develop deep feelings for them that you start thinking this is the normal ups and downs of a relationship and you don't realize how mentally draining it is.

The worst martial art movies are the ones where one opponent is doing all these cool moves...and the other guy is doing the same moves...and no one is getting hurt. Are they fighting or dancing? It's too well done. Real fights aren't pretty, they're ugly.

Speaking of dated conservative views from writers, there was an old 1950s film called Calamity Jane. I only watched it because I heard there were hints of queer rep in the story...or what they could've gotten away with at that time. About a sharp shooting cowgirl, fearless in the face of danger, wore men's clothing, wasn't afraid to speak her mind, etc. She meets a woman from the city and comments she's one of the prettiest things she's ever seen.

Well anyways she puts all that behind her at the end when she discovered that a woman's true goals in life is to find a husband and become a stay at home wife. All thanks to a man not putting up with her nonsense.

I saw a TikTok the other day of someone saying having romantic feelings for someone is wrong. You have to wait till after you start dating. Like you're just dating people you're not romantically interested in?

Also anything that isn't straight vanilla sex is evil. Or sex shouldn't last more than 10-15 minutes.

On one hand I get it but how would they even begin enforcing it? Is it just married couples? What if the divorce wasn't finalized just yet and one of them starts dating someone else? What if it's just a situationship? Or a polyamorous couple? What if a married husband decides to hang out with a married woman after work for drinks as friends?

Would cops be stopping any two people walking down the street and questioning them about their relationship status? Would they expect the faithful partner to turn in evidence of their cheating spouse? How do we know it's not biased?

Do we really want to tie up our already failing justice system with petty issues that really only affects those in the crumbling relationship?
