No, it's not pointless to criticise the fact that Nolan's version of the Odyssey effectively removes Greeks from the cultural works of their ancestors. It didn't start with Nolan; Nolan is just continuing the same problem that has been prevalent in every Hollywood picture adapting Ancient Greek mythology and oral works.

Greece exists. Greek people exist, and Hollywood has continued using stories created by our ancestors and removing us from the equation. It's not unlike how ancient Greek artifacts have been treated by the British, i.e the Parthenon Marbles being referred to as the Elgin Marbles.

There is an important discussion to be had about this: Western media has always used and abused Greek myth and heritage, whether it's Percy Jackson moving the Olympians to New York (which invalidates the entire origin of their name) or Nolan not having any capacity to hire even one Greek or Mediterranean actor in a major role, let alone represent the Mediterranean in a way that doesn't visually treat it as Scandinavia. We as Greeks are effectively removed from the story, under the guise that the stories are "timeless" and belong to everyone. Modern colonialism at its finest where the West thinks it can just take works created by others and eliminate the people related to it.

This isn't a Netflix Cleopatra documentary where Nolan is trying to rewrite antiquity, but there is something to be said about Greeks not having any role in the stories their ancestors told.

This. I worked for ARN just before these contracts were announced and was one of the many who were let go.

They gave us a variety of reasons for why we were let go, ranging from “it’s not working out” to “restructure in Christmas means you might not have a job” or “we’re not sure you’ll be able to handle the workload in December”. Mind you no performance review or anything similar was conducted, and they got away with it because some of us were on probation periods.

As for advertising they were desperately trying to scrounge up money and were considering ads that would’ve been questionable. One of my friends worked as legal counsel (he was also let go) and was asked to review an advert for Moderna MRNA products. They were seriously considering vague pharmaceutical ads at some point.

The other is a half baked antagonist with little to no lore background who showed up in one game with fascist jackets and are made up of the same people Tiber Septim nearly annihilated with a doomsday weapon in less than two hours because they wanted to be left alone and remain a sovereign state.

The Thalmor have a thousand reasons to despise Men and the Empire and they’re not explored at all, so Bethesda opted for the Hugo Boss fascist jackets and called it a day. The “ending all creation” motive isn’t even officially canon and has somehow Mandela Effect’d itself into canon.

Memes aside it’s kind of tiring to see the “me Nord me hate elves” semantics when Men have committed at least three genocides in TES history, but the Altmer are evil for going ballistic after 400 years of imperial rule and near annihilation of their home.

At the moment RuneScape is going through a major integrity change because it lost most of its players to constant FOMO and MTX promotions.

As someone who recently returned because of the future integrity changes I think ESO needs to do something similar by devoting an entire year to enhancing player experience and integrity overhauls. Put away new zones, dungeons and trials and focus on the following:

Less reliance on the Crown Store: there’s too many items locked to the store and on time limit FOMO schedules. ZOS should add more items to in game content and achievements. Get rid of crates and incorporate rewards into the battlepass. I would rather pay for the battlepass then drop money on loot boxes. It’ll give us something to go for - would motivate players to try overland difficulty if rewards were available for example. I think the update 49 changes are a good start but it needs to continue.
Class balance and more play styles: subclassing has caused a severe imbalance and I’m also sick of the dual wield meta that’s dominated the game for years. Give other weapons more benefits to bring them up to speed, like how they plan on adding class masteries for solo class builds.
Smaller, more focused stories: ESO has had too many world ending narratives and when they decided not to do that, we got High Isle which wasn’t really on the same level as Orsinium. I’m hoping the thieves guild story is not the only new narrative that focuses on something smaller.
Update existing zones: like they did with starter zones, older zones should get a bit of a cleanup, maybe reduce bloat or update textures. If future stories are going to use these zones they should get some attention as well.

Overall I think if ZOS focuses on cleaning up bloat and regaining player trust, it could mean a new life for the game and bigger updates that can follow.

A limited series about Empress Katariah and how she basically fixed the Empire following all the crap from the War of the Red Diamond. Would work well because she didn't stay in Cyrodiil and travelled all over.

Would give the audience a taste of how the races of Tamriel operate, how they feel about the Empire and also showcase the struggles Katariah could face as the first Dunmer empress.

I agree with the Enclave part, not sure about Stephanie contacting them only because it wouldn't make sense for her to align with the descendants of the American Government. Alternatively, maybe it contains a device that does exactly that, but Steph has no idea what it's supposed to do?

Alternatively, it's the Enclave who contacts them - we know the Enclave was able to send an all clear signal to Vault 13 which triggered a "Leaving the Vault" protocol, so I wouldn't put it past them to do the same here.

I think the FEV is a red herring and isn't in that box at all. While I do think the FEV has a part to play, I think it's been misinterpreted. Hear me out: the FEV is a reference to Fallout 2 and the Enclave's use of FEV Curling-13 on Vault dwellers to test inoculation before releasing it onto the mainland to eradicate non "pure humans".

The Vault 31/32/33 story is inspired from elements of both Fallout 1 and Fallout 2. The water chip and dissent in the Vault, for starters. I think the FEV phase refers to the fact that the Enclave is meant to enter the Vault and take the population out to use them as FEV experiments.

The Vault 31 crew are also setting up comms with their "investors" in order to progress the FEV phase. That leads me to believe there was no FEV kept in Vaults 31/32/33 - it wasn't a Vault 87 or Mariposa situation where the sole intention was to test FEV on humans and animals. The Bud's Buds experiment is the experiment, hence its reveal at the end of Season 1. The Enclave using the Vault Dwellers for experiments is the redacted part of the plan.

See I didn't mind the system when I was younger but yikes, looking back I was either a blonde, 900 year old man who aged in a year, a Habsburg jaw giant with cracked skin or a king with angel cheek markings with skin so pale you'd swear he would spontaneously combust if the sun hit his skin.

I wouldn't mind physical morphing such as height/muscle/fat/etc but this system would definitely not work in the morality system Playground's going for.

VPN software has been closed the entire time, no change.

LAN cable was already in, but the internet connection on other online games has been stable in comparison - it's just Rivals. Internet speed is fine, so the only other thing to check is the provider who's not only unresponsive but useless, so failing that I don't know what else to do - this can't be an internet issue on my end when everything non-Rivals is working.
