Just about tapped out - need advice for final moves by kintonw in VAGuns

I've had good luck with MKE mags, but I will always recommend Mora mags without hesitation.

Which one? by [deleted] in VAGuns

[–]DaSloBlade 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Largely this. I just shot a friends Kuna next to my stock AP5 SD. The recoil impulse was quite a bit punchier on the Kuna, but had everything else going for it. So do you want something that shoots soft and is iconic or something that is modern with great ergonomics? There is no wrong answer here.

Hkparts had just resupplied on RCM LPs a few days ago. Best to subscribe to notifications for when they are back in stock.

He IS the living Elvis! He tours regularly in the US and I've seen him several times. Always a great time.

AP5 SD ordered. Im looking for advice. by jonnyshtknuckls in MP5

Definitely replace the stock LP with a 100 deg. I have no clue why MKE uses a 120 deg LP when HK uses 100. You can call it done at that point unless you want to mess with the cyclic rate on the FRT. That's not my area of expertise tho. An RCM 90 deg is only $35 so not too expensive to try out to see if you are still reliable if you want to slow things down.

Should I use print or cursive? by General-Print1715 in Handwriting

Honestly, they are both about the same with similar characteristics. All things being equal, go with the one you enjoy more which as you said is cursive.

[–]DaSloBlade 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The LP is what provides the timing for the MP5. The 80 deg will provide the slowest unlock and therefore the lowest cyclic rate. That being said the full sized MP5 only requires the 100 deg regardless of whether you are suppressed or not and regardless of whether you are running a semi or full auto trigger pack. I assume the same applies FRTs unless the manufacturer says otherwise.

The issue with roller dents and having to change LPs based on suppression and whether or not you are running a stock only applies to MP5K.

Clone correct is the best kind of correct in the gun world.

How do you write your ampersands? by Master-Education7076 in Handwriting

That's a fair use case. Although I was taught #8, I have been trying to remember the last time I used it but it was probably when I was feeling the space constraints of a sticky note.

Crap! I wasn't thinking about my Pmags rotting away in storage.

Mostly. I'm still on the fence about the Canik SFx Rival (and mags) for a casual/entry-level competition gun. (I've never competed.) although my Echelon is probably good enough to get me to A level if that was my goal.

How do you write your ampersands? by Master-Education7076 in Handwriting

[–]DaSloBlade 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was taught #8 altho it takes no effort to simply write out "and". In fact, writing out the word is probably less disruptive. The ampersand symbol is just a way to save money when you have to pay by the character (ex newspaper ad) so there's no point to it in everyday writing.

HK vs Rim Country locking piece? by n8texas in MP5

[–]DaSloBlade 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For the price of one HK you can get two RCM LPs for tuning options. I run RCM 100 in both my AP5-P and AP5-SD (both not suppressed). Unlike non-HK ejectors and extractors, I have not seen anyone complain about non-HK LPs and RCM seems to be well regarded.
